Hey guys, don't know if this is the right section for this, but I'm from Australia and looking for the best place to find standard Eisenhower dollars for relatively cheap, even for value if that's possible, I love the size of them for coin magic so want to try and grab my hands on some, any help is appreciated!
PS, looking to get between 10-20 coins, obviously don't want to spend hundreds, but I'm willing to spend up to about 50 AUD for them |

Junk silver, from what I understand, is actual pre-1964 silver coins. Worn out and otherwise mostly worth only the spot price of silver.
Eisenhower dollars are cheaper in the US, but I imagine shipping will offset that. Cheapest I've seen them online is Ebay though, about $2 US. If it's the size you like and you aren't attached to Eisenhowers, you might consider Morgan replicas? I can't vouch for the quality of these, but they popped up: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/USA-United-S......upt=true (looks like a long shipping time though...)

The only silver worth spot & usually always higher is Certified Slabbed coins or bars. 7 years ago, coin shops and scrap buyers were only paying out 2.00 per troy oz. Back in the early 80's when silver was 4.02 an ounce, our father bought kilo bars, 300lbs worth. If you took that Kilo in for scrap to a coin shop, they would still only give you 3.00 per troy oz. Most of the coins you see on ebay are being bought up by New collectors who have no coins, the coins are not worth anything really except to the buyer who is willing to pay for it. There are coins they call "Key Dates" and uncirculated coins, these are bought by serious collectors who will pay 100.00 and up for a single Walker coin. For about 6 months now it has been rumored that Eisenhowers are starting to be pulled by the Denver Mint and being taken out of circulation. People still actually spend them. Uncirculated Eisenhowers, especially the Cameo Proofs which we buy are going up in price weekly, while circulated "culled" coin are on the rise as well as their getting harder to come by. Silver Eisenhower coins are NOT Siver clad, they are 40% Silver/60% copper. You can occasionally find circulated, but not many in bulk. Other Eisenhower 40% Silver Uncircualted or Cameo Proofs sell between 10.00-20.00 dollars per coin depending on the date. We use a lot of Cameo 1973 Key Date Proof Eisenhowers, the coins in uncirculated condition are selling for between 8.00 and 19.00, which no Silver content. These are perfect for coin makers like ourselves. I didn't mean to go into long parable here, I just wanted to help some understand how the coin market actually works as far as Silvers actual value and the collectibility of coins. One last important thing when buying silver coins, Know who you are buying from. There are a lot of fakes out there from China and the US customs is allowing them to pass right through and they're being advertised as 90% silver. To reputable dealers are Coin Exchange, you can find them on ebay. And Money Metal Exchange, who we use a lot for silver coins. https://www.moneymetals.com/precious-met......er-price Kindest Regards, Jake Jr.
