I just want to advice beginners ( and more advanced magicians) to get Mark Wilson`s "Complete couse in magic". It is a terrific book with tons of stuff to learn. Cards, money, rope, illusions, etc. The book is very cheap and will keep you busy for a long time. THIS IS THE PLACE TO START !

Yeah the book looks good but I haven't picked up a copy yet. I just ordered Card College vol. 1 and am waiting for it now.

Later on as an intermediate or advanced magician, one can still refer to this book.

It's also available at regular bookstores, not just magic shops, in case there isn't one in your area. Just saw a copy yesterday at Border's.

Yeah, you could build a career with this book. And that's not a cliche - I reckon its true. Do not overlook the value and importance of this book just because it is easily available. This is classic and essential stuff!!

I'ts a fantastic book - from a beginner's point of view there are hundreds of tricks, sleights and techniques and from a professional's point of view there are loads of useful tricks, especially the stage illusions.

Just to say that I agree with El Toro that Mark Wilson's Complete Course in Magic is one of the evergreen MUST HAVE / MUST READ books for any magician.

And as Harry says, this book has been discussed so many times here on the Café. And am sure will be the subject of many more threads...

This amazing book has been remaindered here in the UK for several years.

It is available for just £9.99 at many cut-price bookshops.

An incredible bargain - full of effects, routines and even illusions.

I like the Mark Wilson course in magic. As someone mentioned this book has been discussed a lot in this forum. Another book if you can find it is Classic Secrets of Magic by Classic Secrets of Magic. I still think it's a hidden gem. One of my favorite routines from the book: Dr. Sach's dice routine.

I have Mark Wilson book. It is excellent. There is another one worth buying , "Bound to please " by Aronson. It is about memorized deck. Very cool tricks.

Bill Tarr's "Now you see it, Now you don't" is also a classic book. I would put it on the same level as Mark Wilson's.

I'll put my recommendation in for Wilson's book too. Great concepts that can be adapted to other effects, and many w/"ordinary" objects.
