If you are looking into buying a magic wallet you will know the time it takes to scour the internet and the Café and watching different trailers of the various wallets out there. A good starting point is http://themagictrailers.com/category/trailers/wallets where I have put up the trailers for various wallets and the links to various reviews and Café links where each wallet is discussed. My site will hopefully grow as users submit videos and links. Its in its early stages but the wallet section is a good representation of what I am trying to achieve with the site.

I suppose this thread is dead by now, but ... on the off-chance someone is still out there monitoring: I'm looking to purchase my first p**k wallet and don't know where to begin. I'm thinking about small hand-written billets but am flexible about that. Most important would be quick-and-easy readability in relatively low light conditions. Any newby-oriented advice would be greatly appreciated.

Both the Shadow wallet and the Orphic have excellent p**ks. You can find reviews of both on YouTube I believe.

Thanks, Pierre. I'll investigate both of those wallets right away.

Have a look at the JOL Famous Jaks wallet from Propdog. It's a simple business card case and much cheaper than full "wallets" designed to hold other stuff too.

I have had several p**k wallets and by far the best in my opinion is the Alias wallet by Collin Cloud. Yes, it has one minor drawback but it can be overcome.

Thanks to all who have responded. I guess I'll just have to purchase 2 or 3 wallets now, starting with the least expensive and working my way up until I find "The One" that fits me best.

Does the Orphic+ have any pockets suitable for packet tricks?

I’ve just taken delivery of my Orphic+ wallet.
Very happy with my purchase, and plenty of room for packet tricks etc. without interfering with any of the wallet’s functions.

Saw is a good option as a first peek wallet. There are various ways to peek so you can experiment and find the one that works for you.

Color me confused. Does "Saw" stand for Stealth Assassin Wallet? (OOS everywhere) Or something else? Please clarify with maybe a link to where to purchase--thanks.

I'm a big fan of the Orphic, and Viper. both are in my EDC/performing rotation. I finally picked up the Shellby (because my 3,000 other wallets weren't enough...). For a dedicated p%%k device, it's really (really) good.. but it has a few limitations. #1 for me was a certain part that keeps another part closed..fell off and was lost. This was prior to it ever even entering a pocket, and loaded with only 4 business cards. (it's a tiny piece secured by glue.) But, even with that part missing it's still a gem amazingly. I contacted Penguin about sending me out a replacement piece so that I can fix it myself. No idea if that's a work around they'll be ok with or not. (I just don't want to deal with re-mailing it back for a complete replacement.) Also, it's in no way a practical EDC. Both because it has almost zero storage space, and because a few parts are fragile. Having said all that, it is a fantastic p%%k. Another great all around wallet is the Shadow. There's a wallet out there to fit all styles and needs though. Hopefully this is helpful to anyone just getting started on this despicable addiction
Anyone that wants to discuss the pros and cons available is welcome to DM me, I'm happy to help if I can. Hope everyone is doing great during this holiday season. Big thanks to all the old timers that have helped me over the years The Cafe has it's issues at times, but I sure am happy it's here, it's an invaluable community and resource. Now back to our regularly scheduled bish fest

Can anyone recommend a slim wallet that has one or two good effects baked in? It's come time to replace my wallet and I'd like to upgrade to something with a gimmick, but I'm not sure what. I'd also like it keep it as small as possible. Ideas?

Maybe you ought to think about what you want to perform that uses a wallet. Card to wallet (palm or no palm or both?) Out to Lunch? Switch? Hold an index? Peek?
What did your old wallet that you would like to replace do? How did it fail you? Knowing what you want to do helps decide on the tool to get.
