This trick is inspired by Jerry Sadowitz trick Mister E Ozo and by Andy Moss quad principle.
Below has been created by Larry Finley on September 17, 2019 from a concept posted by Andy Moss on the magic Café under "magical equations" and "tricks with binary principle". Magician has a spectator look at a board of 16 words and then look at another board that has the letters of the alphabet and concentrate on the first letter of their word and then concentrate on the second letter of their word and concentrate on the whole word and then the magician reveals the thought of word. I don't know all the details of Andy's methods but I'm sure this has a lot of similarity. The differences: This effect: Uses two 8.5 by 11 inch charts of paper glued back to back and one in reverse left to right quadrant order. The chart with the individual letters has some duplicate neutrals so as to spread the letters better. It also has a spiral square in the middle to also help spread the letters and to add more pizzazz to the effect by having the spectator periodically stare at the hypnotic spiral to "transmit their thoughts". This does not use mental dice as does Andy's effect. I'm not going to reveal the precise methodology so that only serious practitioners will use this. I forgot to mention that the reason the words are all five letters long is so that I can continue the process with all five letters without them giving away the length of the word.

Another difference between this effect and Andy's is that he mentions he uses binary whereas my method uses pure quaternary.
Also he mentions that sometimes the spectator has to concentrate on a third letter whereas my method this never happens it's always just two letters that convey the information to the magician (however as a disguise the magician may ask for some more letters to be "transmitted" while the magician looks away). |
