Millard Longman asked me to post his review here. By the way, I agree with Millard 100%. This is an excellent book!
>>>Inside My Mind by Richard Osterlind This book begins with a great forward written by Kenneth Kern. I usually gloss over forwards, but this one grabbed my attention and would not let go. So, I was off to a great start with this book. Then the introduction written by Richard Osterlind grabbed me again! I was already satisfied after only reading these two sections. But wait; the first chapter is called My Story and it is the story of Richard’s performing career beginning from the age of six in first grade! This is such a fabulous story to read; I really feel like I know Richard now. This chapter reveals what drives Richard to achieve perfection in his performances! We should all be so motivated in our own lives. The rest of the book delves deeply into what it takes to truly entertain and mystify an audience and please the people that are paying you to perform for that audience. That last part is what will keep you working steadily! It is certainly not about tricks and jokes. No bad language, no sexual innuendoes, and complete respect for your audience. Richard always believes in himself and that belief is picked up on by his audience. And he explains to us exactly how to achieve that in our own performances and in our own lives! I highly recommend this book to all entertainers – magicians, mentalists, psychics, musicians, singers, comedians, actors, public speakers, jugglers, acrobats, and everyone else. Even if you just have a normal 9 to 5 job, this book will be good for you! His name is Osterlind; Richard Osterlind!<<<
