Was approached after a gig this weekend by a spectator who introduced himself as an employee for Townsquare. Asked about my traditional marketing efforts, how their company put clients on the first page of Google, etc. Read many good reviews, but several similar bad reviews. Any here?

They are known for running a major phone/sales room/hard-sell type of operation. Their interests are primarily SEO and web design. Once they make contact with you you will be contacted often and regularly.

I would never trust my needs to anyone asking about "traditional marketing efforts." My question would be what is your direct experience with entertainment businesses, which is far different than "traditional business." If they can't distinguish the difference and specifics, they would be of no interest to me.

As far as their technical reputation maybe Mike Clay may chime in.

I soo need to put checking the threads out on my weekly calendar...

OK so to be fair, let me explain how I audited their abilities.
I ignore any agency website, to many variables that throw off technical skills on an agency site (like another agency trying to tank you locally)

I go look at reviews and find 3 to 5 SEO customers who are bragging about them and audit those sites...

Here is what I found
https://preferredfencesolutions.com/" target="_blank"> https://marysmountaincookies.com/
Another Case study
- 1.3k keyword rankings (now we are talking)
- 28 top 3, disappointed that they all are BRAND Related
- On a bonus the brand is getting traffic as people know the name of the company
- ut ohhh they are building multiple sites for the same brand and just spamming the market .... https://mmcookie.com/ https://marys-mountain-cookies-fort-collins.myshopify.com/
Decent work in another kinda competitive niche. but nothing massively impressive. They still went to spam tactics to get results (not that I am 100% against it, but a little more skill would lower the cost of work massively)

I have seen worse.
They seem like they have some skill, but I can't find any case study in a truly competitive niche.
They do decent work as far as design goes.

The thing that sets me off (and this is me being picky) is that they talk about local listings on the seo page, yet they don't get results in local listings. They get decent results, but the results they are getting don't match the sales copy. It's like they are using the local seo as the buzz word to get clients then doing old school PBN SEO tactics to get results.

Overall, not bad...
Pros
- The do good design work
- They have worked with entertainers (not the primary focus)
- they do generate results for clients
Cons
- They seem to use some spammy tactics (they work, but take major labor to keep them working long term)
- The sales copy and the type of work being done do not match (makes me want to look at everything much closer, its a trust issue really)
- They don't seem to have stayed current in all the map listing changes in the last 6 months

Conclusion
I would think they should be charging mid range. They are much better than the low end agencies, but I would not put them even close to the same category as https://www.seodesignsolutions.com/ who is one of the best technical SEO guys on the planet.

Hope that Helps
its ok.. balloon dogs don't bite
