Greetings everyone! My name is Michael, nickname "Shoes". Been interested in magic since I was about 8 years old and my father took me to Colon, MI. 44 years later, and here I am still just as intrigued by the entertainment of illusion. Have always had a thing for the close-up misdirection (coin magic, etc), but have recently begun to attempt some card magic/manipulation. Hoping to learn a lot here, meet a few interesting characters, and make a few friends along the way!

My story is similar to yours. I've always enjoyed illusionists but only a few months ago did I decide to actually start learning how to DO the tricks. It's been a slow but fun process.

Hey Shoes,
Welcome to the Magic Café forum. In 1899, the King of Cards Harry Houdini said he could not be fooled by a card trick. Many tried and failed until a young Dai Vernon performed his version of the ambitious card routine. He actually performed 7 times in a row to a fooled Houdini. |

Welcome mdsummerfield,
I have respect for anyone who does coin Magic. I do a little flourishing. While it is not the same as Card Manipulations, it is great fun. Youshould give it a try. -Mary Mowder |
