Hey guys, this is really cool and could offer some real potential.

It is probably a scam. It does exist. But I doubt someone is making them for $10. I see ads for it and they are always a different website that look the same as the last, but with a different web address. And then the website stops working after a while.
Seen it talked about on here as likely being a scam. I haven't found anyone saying they have made a successful purchase. |

I have recently seen this all over Facebook and the comments are quite shocking actually. The same thing over and over again, 'oh so that's how those magicians do it' and 'ha, I knew that was how they did it'.
There were enough of these comments to make me feel slightly uneasy. I know there is a lot of exposure on the internet and yet we still go out and entertain and amaze people, not everyone has seen these videos and not everyone reads the comments and yet... |

Do you know for sure it is a scam Michael? I prefer real evidence rather than jumping to conclusions. Like someone purchasing it and confirming they weren't sent what was shown.
What if they do send you a motorized rubik's cube, but it has wheels and a remote control? A remote control car that looks like a rubik's is probably worth $10, and that's the sales price. The ad says they normally go for $15. If I got a rubik's r/c car then I would feel less ripped off than the people that bought Pocket Pal by Reese. What if the person selling this is just a standard magic dealer using the regular pitch tactics? |

Simple logic is all it requires. Do you really think it is viable to sell a computerised and motorised cube for around half the price of a regular Rubik’s cube? As far as purchasing one to see if you receive the product, this would be a bad idea. These kind of scam sites (particularly prevalent at this time of year) are not after your $9.98 they are after your credit card details, particularly valuable when harvested in this way because you provide your card number, billing address, expiry date and CVV. Everything needed to clear out your account. Now with a credit card you should be able to get it back, debit cards it can be a little harder depending on your territory but again you should be able to get your money back but it is still a PITA. Good evening Mark. I agree that it sounds ridiculous. Just like thinking Pocket Pal by Reese can effectively do the following.
Pin Code Divinations Drawing Duplications Symbolic Readings A.C.A.A.N Q&A 4th Dimension Telepathy Sneak Thief Playing Card Divinations Number Divinations Impromptu Book Tests (using borrowed books) However I don't see you posting your logic in the Pocket Pal by Reese forums. I think you missed my point. Fifteen years experience as a fraud consultant can do that to a man. |

Mark,
Have to agree that it most likely not legit, but regarding the credit card aspect, it is purchased through Paypal. As far as I know, Paypal does not provide the purchaser's credit card info to the seller. Am I wrong on that? |

Well I don’t have pocket pal by Reese so I am not in a position to talk about what it can or cannot do but as I could do most of what’s listed there with a few blank business cards and all of them if you add a swami so logic would suggest that a product could easily exist that could achieve those things. Likewise with those being sold by a known entity by name and reviews being posted by buyers it is fairly easy to say it is not a scam even if the ad copy my be optimistic (which I am not saying it is as I don’t have the product.
My day job is teaching banks how to spot and prevent fraud. This is something I do all over the world and I have trained most of the big banks all over the world. One thing 15 years has taught me is that if it looks too good to be true 99% of the time it is. Likewise if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it is invariably a duck. There are a whole host of scam sites that appear this time of year, the common ones are the ones that offer deals that are “too good to be true”. The more professional ones are clever enough to present offers that are realistic, usually white goods and usually with fairly professional looking sites. For these type of stores the tell tale sign is a lack of physical address or contact numbers. Mark |

The more sophisticated sites harvest details and these details are often packaged up and sold on. Black Friday and Christmas is usually a busy time for the fraudsters. Mark |

Check Rune Carlsen on facebook, he recently uploaded a video showing this SCAM!
He ordered and he only got a normal speed cube, bad quality one. Props to him! |

To the best of my understanding, the self-solving Rubik Cube is still in its infant prototype stage. Not yet available commercially. The only commercially available Rubik Cube solving machine is the GANRobot.
The GANRobot version 2.0 (presently out of stock) is a very high speed machine and can solve a mixed cube in just 5 seconds. Version 2.0 is 3 times faster than its predecessor. Please note that the GANRobot 2.0 is a Scrambler cum Solver and works ONLY with its own 'Gan 356i Smart Cube'. Have a look at the demo video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xWweLegr8qM Back on Topic. P.S. Yesterday I received my GANRobot Version 1.0. Contrary to a few negative reviews on the 'Gan 356i Smart Cube', IMO the GANRobot is a well made product (the Cube as well as the Robot machine). I find the negative remarks are mainly from Speed-Cubers. Though the 'Gan 356i Smart Cube' is called a Speed Cube, but it is not meant for the professional speed cubers. Also electronic based cubes are barred in speed cube completions. This is a toy, similar to the Giiker Cube, and thus must be looked as such. Just MY opinion.
