Has this topic already been started? If so sorry - but I’m really enjoying this show so far - not tooooo much overt Sex and violence with a great story and likeable characters - any thoughts?

I felt it was spoiled a little by reinventing the backstories of Yen, Triss and Ciri...
And the timelines were a bit confusing and unnecessary... It was only 8 episodes so clarity would have been a friend...

I was a fan of the games so naturally I loved the series and binge watched it when it came out. I haven’t read the books so I don’t know how much they changed but it seems to be based on the books and not the game as the game takes place after the series from a chronological standpoint. The timelines are confusing at first but after the first few “what the heck, I thought they were dead” moments you start to understand that the story arcs are not running concurrently but they do converge later on.

The back stories for yen, Triss and Siri were reinvented for the show...which is a shame. Same goes for all the marvel films...
There's already a very rich tapestry to pull from. Seems a shame to mess with it. Mainly cos I was looking forward to seeing the characters I enjoyed so much onscreen. But then suddenly...it's new and different and duller because of it...

Yes, I was definitely confused by Episode 4 and kept asking myself why these dead characters were suddenly alive again.
The show could definitely made it a bit easier for the audience to realize that these are flashbacks that will pay off later on. Every time I watch an episode, I feel like that I'm missing out on half the info that I need to fully enjoy each story. That being said, I'm enjoying the show overall.

Would only take a different filter over the different timeline bits and it would help...
And a shame they never make a fuss of his pendant...it's an important part of the Witcher...

Yes I agree - the timeline is a mess if you don’t have experience with the story. I was confused but hung with it and am still enjoying the story. The characters are engaging and enjoyable - hopefully they can pull this off. What’s the back story of his pendant? I think I’ll buy the game......

Superman became a Malfoy and says the f-word while people do mentalism around him. That's the show.

I see trolls are not just confined to the show itself. ;-)

Wait, there's trolls on the show? I wasn't really paying attention when it was on, tbh. Had a new book.

Oh stand back everyone, he's got a book and therefore superior...hopefully it's a book on how to understand TV shows, because superman/malfoy/mentalism just doesn't work on a metaphorical level in any way shape or form...
Unless the book is on having a superiority complex...in which case, I don't think it's needed...

Wow you really misread the joke there.
Way to make it personal while missing the already self-deprecating punchline. Quote: On Jan 1, 2020, IAIN wrote:

Here I'll explain:
I was oversimplifying the show in an exaggerated fashion before admitting I didn't actually watch said show. It's called a "bit" for those not in entertainment. That's the joke. I have to admit it got a rise. Didn't expect it to come to personal insults but I suppose I should have.
