Slydini’s Impossible Miracle from The Best of Slydini and More meets all the criteria, is very easy, and is fooling.

Hello,
I love self-working effects. One of my favourites is by Lennart Green on his Penguin lecture. He starts his card magic segment with it, borrowing a shuffled deck and predicting the outcome of reds and blacks in 2 piles. I'm not sure what it's called, I just refer to it as 'Reds & Blacks'. The routine also finishes with a kicker ending involving a numerical 4x4 square, some free choices from the spectator, and a card location reveal to close. Does anybody here routine self-workers? I'd be interested to see how other people have strung tricks together that require very little work, but hit big. |

I recently picked up a Simon Aronson book which had Prior Commitment in. I use the Queenspell variation which is fantastic. Spec 1 cuts the deck and selects card, spec 2 does the same, both cuts are replaced. Magician finds the 2 red queens then spells out The Queen of Diamonds then Hearts and both cards are found. Minimal handling. Superb trick.

Twinkle by Simon Lovell
Effect: There are two colored decks. A spectator cuts the cards from one of the colored decks, and then chooses three random cards behind their back. Next, the performer picks up the other deck and does the same. In the shocking revelation, all three cards from the spectator match the performer's! |

I just learned this one from Dai Vernon and that is "Rendezvous". A great impromptu no set up trick.I still don't know how it works.

EG Out of This World Destiny AK47 Gemini Twins I really like The Answer by Ben Earl, because it is basically a prediction but feels so different from just using the mate, which is the usual presentation. Also Con Cam Coincidentia takes a fairly standard method, and makes it amazing by multiplying by 4. Emotional Reaction is great - but it is taken to a whole new level by TAP-A-LACK (or DIPLOPIA which to me is fundamentally the same). This requires a mental calculation that is not that difficult with a bit of practice. So not exactly self-working - but no tricky sleights either. |

I'm not familiar with Twinkle - but looking at the video I find it hard to believe there is no setup.

Nikodemus, You are correct about Twinkle. AK47 also requires some setup.
