A high quality reproduction of a classic 19th century transformation deck - Eclipse Comic Playing Cards (Kickstarter)

Cost: ~US$11 per deck
Current funding level: fully funded
Kickstarter ends: Saturday February 1, 2020

The Eclipse Comic deck is a reproduction copy of a deck dating back to 1876. The deck is especially noteworthy for being a transformation deck, which means that the pips are cleverly integrated into the artwork on the cards.

The Eclipse Comic deck was was the very first transformation deck printed in the United States. A reprint is currently up for funding on Kickstarter here. It will be produced in a higher quality edition than the prototype, courtesy of printing by USPCC, makers of the famous Bicycle playing card brand.

Will Roya from PlayingCardDecks.com is spearheading this project, having successfully produced many playing cards in recent years via crowdfunding, and with extensive experience in the industry. More information about this beautiful project can be found in this preview article.
