Steve Dela has released a pack of cards built specifically for Mentalists

Steve thought "why not produce a casino quality 100% plastic marked deck?”

Casino Quality plastic cards still spread beautifully across a table!

They shuffle amazingly well, stay perfectly flat, and the great part is, they last 20-50 times longer than a standard cardboard deck.

This deck can last for YEARS of performances... and, if they do get dirty... you can wash them!

They have NOT simply designed a card and added the marks over the top as an ‘after-thought’, as seen with the majority of marked cards.

The great thing about designing the backs this way is that the marks are BIG and yet SO well disguised! Once you know where to look they are REALLY quick to read. See for yourself in the photos:

https://www.magicshop-deals.com/products/night-flight-deck

Designed for Mentalists.
100% PLASTIC!

PVC cards last 20-50 times longer than a cardboard deck.

Professional ‘Poker/Casino Quality’ plastic cards with matte finish... NOT the cheap shiny waterproof type sold on auction sites

Super easy to read markings.

Subtle one way back design.

Instantly know whether a card is Red or Black.

Normal faces. NO redesigns!

Generic box design. Nothing to indicate that this is a VERY special pack of cards.

55 Card Deck! Extras cards include:
1 Joker.
1 Special Double Backer Blue/Darker Blue.
1 Double Backer Blue/Red.

Markings explanation card.

Plastic storage box

Hope this helps

It doesn't help us at all.

It only helps you.

These look beautiful and the system is very good in my opinion. My own deck is on the way so I will give a full review when I have them in hand but I have seen a lot of pics so I know pretty much what I’m getting.

Why bats? Does the case say "night flight"?

Based on the pics the case does appear to say night flight which probably answers the “why bats” question.

Yeah but out of all creatures to put on them...bats? Pretty niche. Makes them look a bit odd (to me). Same with bicycle brand. Never liked them either.

HI Iain

Yep. Definitely a bat theme going on...

I guess it would be pretty easy to spin a story around that. Especially around Halloween.

The markings are very fast to read. Both myself and Jason have using the deck as an everyday pack at the magic shop counter for the past few days, so it's been intensively tested on magicians and general public... they are perfectly hidden in plain sight. Check out the guide to the marking system on the products page.

Hope this helps

While I realize that only a very miniscule minority of spectators are likely to google Night Flight Playing Cards why even tempt fate when it would be just as easy to sell them under a different name?

If they were only listed in the ad copy and online as Dela's Deck for instance then it would make it much more difficult to track down any inside info about them. I just think this should be standard operating procedure and become the norm for any magic release.

Would it really destroy sales that much? I wouldn't think so.

The bats are an unusual choice. They make the cards look more like a magicians deck...the dark arts, vampires etc.

Great for bizarre magic and Halloween.

I have had these for a little over a week now and have been using them at gigs and residencies. Those who work regularly in pubs, clubs, bars and restaurants will tell you how often cards get placed in water or beer or any other number of liquids. I have always been reluctant to use marked decks in these situations because I would end up spending a fortune in marked decks. What I love about these is, I can wipe off any nastiness and they are good as new! I will admit, when I saw they were plastic, I was very hesitant because they normally don't handle very well. Obviously, these do not handle as smoothly as a bicycle deck or others but, they are the best handling plastic deck I have ever seen. Smooth spreads and fans all the way.

The printing quality is sharp and vibrant but not so much that they looks like a prop. The back design, whilst it is bats, the audience don't pick up on. I have only ever had a handful of people I my entire professional career mention the design of the deck and often, they mention they are bicycles because they know the brand. Those worried about the design seeming 'magicy' needn't be. Honestly, they are interested in what you are doing with the cards and if you are doing it will, they should never suspect a marked deck anyway.

I would however agree on the box having the effect name one it. I think I would hide that from the spectators. I doubt many spectators will google the brand name to discover if they are trick or not (once again if you are using them well, they shouldn't suspect it) but they may like the design of the cards and want some for themselves. In which case, they may google the brand name in order to purchase a deck themselves. But that is easily solved by placing them into a different box or keeping them loose in your pocket.

The marking system is absolutely genius! Honestly, I LOVE the DMC's and love the cleverness of the marking and for me, Steve's marking system is just a clever and just as clear for the performer. My eyesight is pretty poor but I can see this at quite some distance. The extra one way and black/red system is an added bonus!

I really love marked decks are rarely use them for fear of damage and now I'm so happy I can use them in my everyday working set!

I think the box looks like something you may have bought at the last minute at a drug store and makes it look even more innocent. Or as jd says keep them in a different box or as I do in a leather case.

Nice.

I think these are great for all the reasons Jamie says in his review and it is so nice to not have to worry about beer spillages etc. These are very easy to read when you know what to look for.

I'm sure they are great as a marked deck for mentalists (e.g you could convert this into Osterlinds Dynamo Deck) but us magicians sure love getting our cards folded/signed on/handed out as souvenirs

I guess that’s why these are advertised for mentalists.

I also like doing some mercury folds etc. I just bought a clarity box. Hehe

Nice.

I know that Steve D doesn't carry a box to hold the cards when he performs professionally. His solution is quite unique and quite genius and if you want to know what it is you need to buy his DVD set Steve Dela work and play. 😁

The idea of buying an older DVD to find out how a creator solves a problem they have created in a newly released product is... interesting.

I must state though that I bloody love this deck and the bats had never even occurred to be an issue for me. The name on the box is, at most, a minor and pretty insignificant irritant and if anyone feels the need to remove the danger of the name being seen Im sure (even without the DVD set) there are umpteen pretty simple solutions.

He uses a JOL Deck Holder attached to his belt, saved you buying the dvd.

Hello,

I just got my 2 Night flight decks from Alakazam EU.

I must say that I am very pleased!!!!

The cards look like normal cards (and not like plastic), they handle very well and are mat (not brillant).
They come in a plastic translucide box sealed with a individual numbered seal.
The markings on the back are exceptional , big, very very easy to read and still hidden for those that do not know what to look for.
I am very happy and give a 9/10 for these indestructible cards. Will surely buy more...

PS; In the box is written: V1 ! So........
