Did this trick come with the coin? I have heard that it never did.
Thanks!

I have never seen one come with the coin. The one I have was bought used and did not have a coin.
Never opened a new one but that would be the best way to answer the question. When they pop up for sale, they always seem to be used and have no coin. |

Heard that it uses the same coin that comes with Super Spike.

Yes, I am pretty sure that coin will indeed work.
That coin also works with Coin of Dracula. |

I think it did come with the coin originally.

It DID come with the coin. When a used one pops up and it doesn't have one the seller lost (or spent ) it, simple as that.
Think about it - Tenyo did NOT assume we all have Chinese coins lying around somewhere to perform this effect |

May I add that Tenyo tells you what kind of coins/items you can use if the Japanese coins are not available to you.
So, they may not assume that you have access to the coins but expect you to acquire what you need to properly perform the effect. |

Ok Steve, I must apoligize because Tenyo did not include all the necessary coins for Sword Reward (you can actually perform 'a' trick with the props without them) ... .
Nonetheless, Tenyo did supply a suitable coin (with a hole) with the original Dragon Altar. It was part of the original package. So briefly: Quote:

I was able to find the correct 5 Yen coin on eBay for $3 delivered!! However, if necessary, the coin from Super Spike works just fine.

Tenyoism states it came with a washer with lightly embossed characters (for Western markets). I have a sealed one and cannot see or feel any signs of a coin... could be in there I guess but not willing to open it to find out I also have an open one and it is a favorite.

I believe the USA version came with a fake Japanese coin while the much more common Japanese version did not come with a coin as there was no need.
