Hmm. I'll pull it out but it does light up and shows a clear image that's definitely visible.

I'd been wanting to see one of these and started to post a response here to request pics - as I thought this was no longer available...think I had read that somewhere.

Anyway, I decided to check the net for pics and found the Carlyle website, along with a page for the Brain Wave Case. I sent a message through their website and shortly after got a response that the Brain Wave Case was, indeed, in stock. It took a bit to get the order through, as for some reason their site wouldn't take me to PP to make payment, but after brief communication all worked well. They were very responsive.

What was kind of funny was I did NOT expect this to look as much like the Thought Transmitter as it did, haha! Looking forward to receiving mine and comparing it to my TT v2 and the Mastermind Wallet!
My ex-cat was named "Muffin". "Vomit" would be a better name for her. AKA "The Evil Ball of Fur".

The Caryle case is a great replacement for the original Thought Transmitter.

If I understand correctly, you can't change the battery on this model?

I just got a Carlyle Deluxe Brain Wave Case. It does not have a rechargeable battery. I knew from the online pics that the Carlyle was very much like the mastermind, but basically, it IS the Mastermind, haha. The wallet and gimmicked "Notes" pad from Carlyle are an *exact* match to the Mastermind Wallet. The filters in the Carlyle version are lightly laminated, while the Mastermind's are not. Oddly, on the Carlyle, there was no clear plastic in the window. When you touch the peek window from the outside of the wallet, you are touching one of the filters. Because of this, the faux leather that frames the peek window is extremely flimsy. With a light shake, one of the filters would come out about 1/3 out of it's pocket. This is not the case in my Mastermind Wallets (I have 2 MM wallets, one I bought a few months ago, and one I bought about 15 years ago). On those, there is clear plastic in the peek window that is adhered to the wallet material that frames the window.

The Carlyle order provided 2 full sets of post-it notes, along with an extra filter.

One other note re: clarity of what you are peeking. This has to do with the 'layers of material' within the wallet that are between the light source and your eyes and how closely together they lay next to each other in the wallet, and how that affects what you see. My old 15 year old Mastermind wallet provides an image that is relatively sharp. The Carlyle and my new Mastermind are fuzzier. My Thought Transmitter v2 is sharp as a razor. The fuzziness can be corrected by bowing the wallet a bit as you peek.

Current Mastermind on the left, Carlyle on the right:

Interesting. I know for a fact they had one originally.

That's interesting. I wonder why the change? I explained the loose pocket issue to the CS at Caryle and they are kindly sending another to me.

I imagine the manufacturer has changed/product has changed/original no longer available.

This one looks nice though.

Thank you very much. If the battery is not interchangeable in the new version it is less interesting...

I received another BW from Carlyle, this one much better than the first. It is still the Mastermind Wallet with laminated filters and 2 packs of Highland Post It Notes, but their customer service is awesome.

One other thing. Test the Sharpie you are going to use on your "wallet of this nature" Smile using 2 (2!) Post It Notes prior to putting the notes into the device for use. Today, I put 1 note on the clear plastic of my newly-received BW and wrote using a blue sharpie. For whatever reason, that blue sharpie bled right through the post it note and onto the clear plastic. I couldn't get it all off, and while not much is left, it will be there forever (I tried over-writing it with a dry-erase marker, as I've heard that will remove the permanent ink, but it didn't work). It is not a big deal, as the area affected will be covered by the post its, and you really can't tell the ink is there when getting your peek - but I was lucky. My black sharpie was no trouble at all, go figure. Don't know if it is a property of the blue vs black ink, or just this one blue sharpie that has too much ink, or what. Just test the sharpie you'll use on post it notes you'll be using, to see if there's going to be bleed-thru.
