In the coming weeks, there is a new book coming out called 'The Tracker'. This is a system that allows you to genuinely track someone's truths or lies and can be used for countless pieces of mentalism including 'Which hand' effects, Progressive Anagrams, Thought Reveals, Pre-show, Card Reveals and whatever else comes to mind!
With so many different versions of the truth-teller / liar plot coming out, it is hard to remember them all. Now imagine a system that allows you to do this and more with barely anything to remember because you will KNOW if they are lying or telling the truth! Without logic puzzles, predetermined questions or psychological forces, you will be able to accurately determine someones lies and their truths and track the whereabouts of objects, thoughts and… well, whatever you want really! Imagine you display three coins of different denominations and one drinks bottle cap. You instruct a spectator to place the cap over one of the coins and then, with the other two coins, to place one in each hand. You instruct them to either lie to you or to tell you the truth and after a couple of questions and their best poker face, you reveal where each coin is and whether they were telling you lies or the truth! The book is laid out with practise scenarios so that you can test yourself, which makes the learning of the system an absolute breeze! "I’m only half way through and already this is epic!!" - Dave Loosley "As someone who consumes a lot of magic and mentalism, I very rarely come across anything that stays in my head for more than 5 minutes. This, however, stuck and it's still there. It's not a trick, it's a system (a term which is wildly overused, but in this case true), and as such I've found several ways to implement it and change routines I already do, and come up with new ones. My mind is still reeling with all the possibilities, and I doubt it'll stop anytime soon. If you know me, you would know that I don't like anything, and if I say something is good, it probably means it's great, but this is great, so go figure!" - Daniel Young I'm really proud of the content within and I know some great thinkers who pick this up are going to expand it so much more! As always, I'm happy to answer any questions you may have! https://www.jamiedaws.co.uk/tracker Jamie Daws

Not many new releases I read about get my attention. This one has.
Every problem contains the seeds of its own solution. Unfortunately every problem also contains the seeds of an infinite number of non-solutions, so that first part really isn't super helpful.

Is this propped, or can it be propless? You have mentioned anagrams, so I'd assume it is propless?

Ori, there is a propless version in the book. It can use an invisible coin if you wish, get them to imagine which hand the coin is in. There is a Facebook group with some interesting ideas in and I'm sure with a little bit of thinking, more proplesss versions can be created using the Tracker Principle!

Having gotten a sneak peek at this I can confidently say - I REALLY LIKE IT!
Jamie has taken a concept that has been floating around in our collective consciousness and added a systematic approach that allows you to squeeze a lot out of very little. The core principle at play is extremely simple and direct. I've toyed with this very idea myself over the last few years prior to reading The Tracker - but Jamie has provided us with an excellently curated collection of techniques and applications which push 'the basics' into wonderful territory. There technically IS an element of 'logic' involved but it is EXTREMELY straightforward in practice. The work (if you can call it that) is on you as the performer - the participants merely need to play their chosen role of Liar/Truth-teller. You only need to remember one piece of information and then you following along from there using nothing more than common sense. And yes, as Jamie states in the ad-copy, you will KNOW whether the participant(s) are lying or telling the truth. Once you lock the core concept into your mind (and I guarantee that will happen before you're halfway through the booklet) I doubt you'll ever forget how to use it. I dare say that this is even something you could perform with confidence pretty much immediately (but I'm a proponent for rehearsal even with 'self-working' material!). Throughout the booklet Jamie gives you several solid/clever 'trackers' (tools that help you identify if someone is lying or telling the truth) - some use nothing more than your business cards, some employ other (albeit easily justified and natural) props, and one even fits the prop-less bill. These merely scratch the surface though. I'm CERTAIN that readers will quickly and easily leverage their own pet strategies to create new and interesting 'trackers'. The final thing, for now, that's worth mentioning is how thoughtful and thorough Jamie is with the instruction. On the heels of teaching each routine Jamie provides you with a number of practice scenarios to help you see just how simple and easy the underlying work is. This was a nice addition to the text to aid in the learning process. Wonderful work Jamie! Best wishes, Drew

Ditto. I like the idea that this is something that promises to be portable, has good spectator engagement and can be performed at a moments notice.

I can't wait to get this. I took a hiatus for around 8 years and just came upon Jamie's effects. I love his effects with old photos and now the tracker!
