Maybe you have an idea that can help. I want a “low tech” way to show the presence of a ghost, early in a presentation.
• Thread pulls are out of the question. I hate those things. • We use pendulums near the end of the performance, so they won’t work in this early position. • I have Carlyes Spirit Bell manuscript and that seems to be my only option, but I hate to lug a bell or glass around without it having any other purpose or use throughout the presentation. • I do have a 6 inch haunted key that can be used and easily tied into a later part of the presentation as well. • Okito Doll is cool, but won’t fit the theme I wonder if you might have a few suggestions. Thanks in advance, Mike |

Why not just invite a real ghost to attend? They are usually pretty accommodating as long as you believe in them. Sometimes the act of summonsing a ghost that does not show up is just as powerful. Remember, you do not control them and if they want to show they will and if not they won't. Let it be an experiment for the spectator. You may be surprised just what someone will see or sense.

If a ghost wants to show up and do the work, I'm all for it, but in case they feel like taking the night off, I need a back up plan ; )

A radio controlled relightable candle can be purchased or made from scratch. A picture frame or diploma hung on a wall can be made to tilt or fall, also by radio control since you hate threads. A desk frame can also be made to topple over on command (R.C. again). These are in our "Magi-Tronics" section at The Magic Nook, but only available to those who can verify or PROVE that they are magicians and capable of building electronic radio controlled devices.

Thanks! I'll invite a ghost. That's about as low tech as I can get.

I'd use a bottle pendulum*, but maybe you wouldn't want to lug that around either. Take a look at Corinda's Step 9 for other ideas.

Plunge the room into total darkness. Play an ultrasound recording. Fill the room with an EM field using a REM pod.

Consider a suggestion-based method. I can recommend the book Psycho Seance (if you can find it).

Thanks for all of your suggestions. I appreciate all of them. I ended up making Carlye's Spirit Bell. After several weeks of thinking. All of your suggestions here, it finally came to me how I can use the wine glass as a utility later in the performance.
Thanks again. |
