Not that I have this, I do see the issue of revealing a picture and a word that are both "the same". Surely you could create some routine, where you have multiple participants and selections. With one person "who is more of a visual thinker, thinking more in images" thinking of the image and with another person "who is more logical" (or something like that) and they think of the word. Doesn't all have to use the same card, right?
Anyway, best of luck with the release! All the best, Dan |

My main issue as I stated in my messages above is the image/word being the same and also that the advertisment isn't as accurate as it should be. Nothing more, nothing less. In conclusion, we are talking about a definitely refreshing idea regarding the ESP deck concept which hopefully provides different routines and styles of presentation which I presume are very well thought and framed in such a manner that even the three or four (according to Adam) revelations are so powerful to create a high impact on the audience you are performing for. I think that I'll get my hands on this and see in person if Adam's routining and suggestions in terms of presentation in the 90 min. instructioal video (this sounds very promising) and the booklet as well, are well thought indeed, making the deck a real worker.

Hi Adam,
With regard to my kind words on the design and the style of the deck but also on some characteristics of your personality, you are really welcome. I simply said nothing but the truth. As for the likelihood you to offer us in the very near future a video of performance so we would able to take the time to watch it and form our opinion accordingly, that would be insightful and very helpful. However I will stick on my thesis (also a Greek word) that the advertisment is not accurate as it should be. The word "random" is phrased in a clever way so that any potential customer is facing difficulties to understand whether the word "random word" is related directly to the image printed on each card seperately or it is compared to the rest of the words as a whole which evidently points out that each different word is printed on each of the rest of the cards. With the latter in mind, yes, the word you divine is a random one. But it's not a random one if it's related to the image printed on the same card. It' tat simple. The confusion is caused by the clever phrasing in the advertisment. I hope I managed to be as comprehensible as it gets since you have to bear in mind that English isn't my mother tongue. All of this aside, I wish you once more the best of success with your new release. And yes, when I purchase the deck and toy a little bit with it, I'll try to leave my two cents here and I assure you that it will be an unbiased point of view. Kindest regards, Andrew

"In conclusion, we are talking about a definitely refreshing idea regarding the ESP deck concept", well it's the same as Francis Girola's, but different... darker I guess. So it will suit certain people quite well!

Oh I wasn't trying to diminish your creation. I was just saying that it wasn't "brand new" kinda thing... that Francis' was similar in concept. But different takes on it. One light, one dark. I know at least one of my friends got excited when I told him about this one! So again, all the luckies with this one!

It is different, darker indeed and in my opinion, the aged look of the cards creates a more convincing psychic atmoshpere (with a little spooky touch on it) than the ones of REMOTE which look more scientific. I think it looks like this version was tailored to fit any gifted rhetorician/storyteller of the bizzare. In addition it looks like it has a greater potential than REMOTE, in terms of routining and presentation, since the deck comes along with a good looking booklet and a 90 (!) minutes instructional video as well. And if I'm not wrong, there are only a few similar effects in the market which come with a such a long (in terms of duration time) instructional video footage and I think that this alone is worth the half of the deck's price.

Now that Darkwave ESP is officially released, here are a few of the incredible comments we have already had back:
"Adam Cooper has succeeded where so many others have failed: he has created a practical and fooling extension to the standard ESP deck. The new elements that DARKWAVE adds are innovative, logical and yet totally mysterious. And the methods are a worker's delight. Highly recommended." Mark Elsdon "Darkwave is a super set of ESP cards for many reasons. The method is impossible to detect and you can divine so much information for each card. The macabre images add a dimension to your story and it will grab your spectators. This is a knock out in the ESP genre! This will kick anyone's ass!!" Straight Talk Magic Reviews "Wow, a refreshingly new and original take on the ESP Deck! This is an awesome bit of kit for any working or aspiring mentalist. The teaching is superb and the effects taught are brilliant. It's mysterious, unique, fun & an all round high quality product. Recommended" Steve Dela "This is a killer deck of ESP cards! The production is beautiful and the download is jam packed with incredible ideas. But, for me, it is the method that is absolutely mind melting! It is so clever and so easy to grasp! This is something every mentalist will want in their case!" Jamie Daws "If James Bond used an ESP Deck, this would be the one!" Cameron Francis "One of the best things I've seen in YEARS!" I just received this effect as a gift from a friend and I have to say it fits all the criteria of something I will use daily. ESP cards are not for everyone but this deck looks like it has a purpose, being from an accredited Institute. The markings are clever and allow for two different identifiers on the other side. The word anagram is incredibly clever and with one card it is possible to do a four minute effect alone. Using this deck for other ESP stacks and effects and it’s a Swiss Army knife of usages. The pack is flat and doesn’t take up pocket space, the cards are clear and well made and the overall idea is nice and dark, as I feel mentalism can be at times. Great tool and I highly recommend it.
I even used it on Zoom on the day I got it with great success. |

I've always been interested in ESP effects, so this product immediately had my interest. Here's my review:
=========== Adam Cooper's Darkwave ESP Kit from Big Blind Media is a 30 card ESP deck but with a number of interesting twists, that really ramp up its potential. To begin with, each card has one of the traditional Zenner symbols commonly found in ESP decks. But then to strengthen the possibilities, each card also has a word and accompanying image, with the overall colour theme either in red or black. And to top it off, there's a clever secret marking system that reveals the symbol and colour of the card, and there's also a system you can use to figure out the word and the image. The deck also comes with a few extra gaff cards, and the box is cleverly used as a prop to help you as a convenient reference tool. To help put all this potential within easy reach, you get a small booklet and access to over an hour of video instructions online, which include teaching four routines. It's obvious that this deck is packed with an impressive range of features, and there's an enormous amount that you can do with this. But it's definitely not for everybody. One thing I'm personally not keen on is how thematically "dark" it is. For example, the cards include things like Exorcist, Satanic, Devil, Ouija, Crucifix, and Horsemen. Many of them have apocalyptic and even religious overtones that I'm entirely uncomfortable with. When combined with sinister artwork featuring vampires and undead, it borders on the disturbing and inappropriate. I realize that this is presented as testing cards from the British Institute of Paranormal Research, but even so it's definitely on the creepy side. There may be contexts in which this will work, but I think that this dark focus limits its practicality. I may be in the minority, but unfortunately this is definitely not for me. For another perspective, I highly recommend the very detailed review from Alex Hui which you'll find: here. He includes photographs of the cards, so you can decide for yourself whether or not this is for you. |

I think the idea behind these cards is great but not the chosen words and images. I hope a newly designed set will one day be released - perhaps a Lightwave ESP.
