Reminds me of the fact that I spent 3 years as guitarist in a Black Sabbath/Rainbow tribute band. I felt like Tony Iommi and Ritchie Blackmore, combined. Fun stuff, because they’re my favorite guitarists (along with Martin Barre of Jethro Tull).

Pink Fraud?

(Okay, so I just made that one up. But if I was in a Pink Floyd tribute, that’s what I’d call it.)

I don't like 'Tribute Bands'.

I'm not really sure why(!).
But I don't.

The,...'false-ness' comes through,..to me.
As much as I try,..
it still comes through.

Often(!), I don't even like THE ORIGINAL Artist(!..!),
who's doing 'a tribute' of their own work!

I can smell 'the soul',...or, lack of.

When I'm listening to music, to move me emotionally;
I have a hard time swallowing the feke-ness.

If I'm listening,..to dance.,..(for the other 'soles' 🙂), no problem.
Also,.I'm open for interpretation.

I remember seeing, "Beatlemania" on Broadway. Two or three times, I think. (It was a simpler time) I thought they were good, then I went to Great Adventure (Now called Six Flags, Great Adventure) and saw a smaller, more intimate show called; "The Mahoney Brothers - Long Live The Beatles." They came out in the Abbey Road walk, did their set, interacted with the audience (some of whom were watching the show for the third or fourth time) and it was a wonderful experience.

That was back in the 70's. Apparently, they're still working. A little more polished here, which kind of takes out the intimate part, but they're still good.

A long, long, time ago I knew a nice kid who did a great Marc Bolan impersonation and he was a real fanatic, obsessed you might say.

Interesting touch having a "George Martin" contemplating in the background. He's visible behind "McCartney" in the thumbnail (also at around the 12 minute mark in the video).
