Hindu Sands uses three chemicals to change the color of the water to black and then clear again: Ferric Ammonium Sulfate, Tannic Acid, and Oxalic Acid.
Does anybody know the best source for obtaining these chemicals retail, other than buying from magic shops (which give you very little chemical for the money)? Thanks. |

Two sources. Check with a pharmacy and check with a water plant for a source to get chemical regents and such to test water.
Warning. Be advised because of all the terrorism, they may be very hesitant to talk to you until they are sure what you are really doing.

You might look in the phone book for chemicals. We have a local guy that sells chemicals to schools and just about anybody else that has a need. He is reasonably priced. You might find someone in your area.

Just got a chance to view the replies to my inquiry. Thanks for the advice.
Steven, you said that there is a guy in your area who sells chemicals, and I see that you are in Southern California -- so am I (Los Angeles). Can you give me his name and number so I can contact him? You can email me this information directly if you don't want to post it: jw4magic@aol.com Thanks again guys. James |
