This new book on coin magic is great. One of the greatest things about it was that it filled me in on some moves I have needed in the past, but could not find a way to do them, so to speak. There are many of those here. I think it is almost a necessity to have this if you want to really be knowledgeable and have a grasp of a wide range of tools for coin magic.
I don't mean just to collect, but to use every day. Some of the great things: ways in and out of nowhere palm, Lazy Himber count, ways in and out of edge grip that had escaped me previously. This is not a full review. So please add some things you appreciate about this important work on coin magic. This can be used greatly by amateurs or by advanced coin workers. It has all kinds of things. But it is not a rehash of what has been done previously. To me, it is a fresh breath of air that allows me to use some things that I had wanted to previously, but had not found some of the great tools introduced in this fresh and important work. |

Thanks for the info! But where can we have a look at it??

Thanks, Rick. I intentionally did not do a detailed review. Why? Coin magic, especially if you have been at it a while, tends to force each of us into certain "slots."
We all become limited. Why? You can't do everything well in coin magic due to your own preferences, and also your own tendencies. I thought it was much more important to point out the extremely useful things contained in this book. Because there are things all coins workers can use. Some of these things I had been trying to work out or thinking of, but I only found them in this book. For example: I like the idea of Roth's Hanging Coins, but I frankly wanted more subtleties and options for this to feel confident in fooling people with it. Well, this book provides what I needed. Also, much more. So I would not hesitate to recommend this. You will find things worth much more than the purchase price of this book. I guarantee it. From simple but ingenious sleights like the "Lazy Himber" to others..... I have not been this happy about a coin work in a while. Why? I have so many things I can actually use, which I would not have found elsewhere. Some pieces to the puzzle that I did not think existed, until now. |

Rick:
I tried to send money via PayPal to paypal.me/rickholcombe and PayPal didn't recognize that. Is there an email or different name we can use. Thanks, Dave |

Rick, Thank you for the great magic you are sharing to the community. I had really really tired with all the "Magic Juggling" that coin magic had become with all the Split Coins etc...
You and Danny Goldsmith are both a fresh breath of air. Magic that LOOKS like magic, not gymnastics! Thanks again, STEPH
WHAT IF you wake up tomorrow with ONLY the things that you THANK GOD for today?

I start out teaching 6 sleights that are used in the routines. These are all original sleights, or tweaks to existing sleights. |

Rick,
I've very much enjoyed the coin tutorials you've put up on the Café. Would your book be suitable for a beginner in coins? Thanks, Bob |

I would call it enlightened coin magic. Rick has sifted through weighty tomes and has a unique ability to extract what is relevant, practical and what looks miraculous.
This is a very rare ability, to be able to innovate and to cull through and to extract the best of coin magic to put it to another level. IMHO> |

That's a rare ability indeed. I hope that someday I'll get to a level where Rick's book is useful to me. And Rick, I hope you'll still have copies to sell by then!

P. S. Just noticed it's an ebook. Rick, have you thought about seeing whether Chris would publish it on Lybrary?

Bob, Trust me there are a few things there that any intermediate coin guy could use. Things you could do next week that are
pretty much the best way to do it, and some things impossible to find elsewhere. I am not paid by or a friend of Rick's . But I finally realized that he is able to, unlike so many modern coin guys, to avoid the angly and impractical "one camera angle" trend. He also tends not to go back to old school by doing things like the overuse of the finger palm. He also likes moves that appear impossible, yet are highly practical. A very rare blend of abilities. And we should be thankful for his contributions to modern coin magic. I am. |

Thanks, countrymaven. Thing is, I'm not even intermediate. I'm not even a beginner, really. I've been practicing finger and classic palms and reading about false transfers, but that's about it.

Bob, if you aren't intermediate, another way to look at it is, there are a few things in this book that you can use next week . Trust me .
Again, I am not paid or a friend of Rick's . I have looked through and disposed of so much new coin magic that wHen I find someone who is giving some really practical, miraculous looking stuff, I just recommend it. |
