I am thinking about whether I would want to add a liquid kicker and how to do it. If I decide to add it, I am thinking maybe a stainless steel whiskey jigger with velcro so it could be removed and washed..

Just a quick FYI. You may want to protect the labels if you are using liquid. Maxwell Blade reported using these bottles for his famous routine. He left a review at penguin magic explaining what he did to protect the labels:

I perform with two sets of bottles and have purchased many sets over the past 10 years simply because I perform around 250 shows a year and they get worn and torn. I love this set but what would make them better is something I've done once receiving them as the labels are paper, I've Added a water well in the fourth bottle and I sprayed all the bottles with 4 coats of gloss polyurethane, this really helps preserve the labels and prohibits tearing the labels when re stacking them it also Keeps them dry as I pour merlot from them at the end if my routine, they are gorgeous And very deceptive and I hope to get many years of use .

Maybe if you reach out to him he will share his approach to adding the liquid well.

Resurrecting this old thread. Why are most sets made up of 10 bottles, yet most routines seem to revolve around sets of nine?!?

The older routines (e.g. Ken Brooke's excellent one) come from a time where bottles were manufactured in groups of three. Any more than that and they became less deceptive. So they used multiples of three, for example 3X3=9 bottles. Modern manufactured bottles can be made to be deceptive in groups of 4 or 5. Therefore the more modern routines tend to use either eight (2X4=8) or ten (2X5=10) bottles. The advantage of this is that it is easier to bring two groups into play than three. One of the reasons Ken Brooke's routine found so much favor is because of how elegantly it handled using three groups of bottles.

TCC has a new release on Kickstarter which looks great, very affordable and getting some positive buzz. I believe the latest Wizzard Product Review takes a close look at with a favorable impression. https://youtu.be/yJysYrwfNgc?si=mpfflGc-6iJxl05S

I have a set on order though I'm not sure when they ship?

Jim Kleefeld also produces a variety of themed bottles for kids programs. https://jimkleefeld.com/prodKidTricks.html

I have the Original RNT 7-Up Bottles with extra labels. Never used. They are in pristine condition.

On Denny Haney's recommendation a few years back, I got a set of the Reg Donnelly bottles and I have been very happy with them. They hold-up and troupe well. They're very plain-looking, and that's one of the things that I actually like about them. They're well-made and have '"lips" spun-in for easier handling........in fact Denny told me that the lips on these bottles were as good if not better than the original Ken Brooke set that he got years ago.

If you can find them, I highly recommend the bottles from Harries of Sweden ...

IF you want a really different set for family audiences, I put out a set of ketchup bottles that change places with french fries. After producing 6 of the bottles, you suggest you need something to put it on and produce a hot dog from one of the tubes. As a climax, you say that if you are making hot dogs you will need relish, mustard, and if you eat all that you will need this... and produce a large bottle of Pepto Bismol. It has gotten a good response.

Huge fan of Jef’s ketchup bottles. Fantastic for family shows where wine bottles would seem a little out of place and works for adults too if your style is light hearted.

I also think that Jef at Kandu Magic has the best kid and family show bottles. He always puts out high quality items.

The best "value" wine bottles I know of in the $200-$300 range are the TCC bottles (you can get a three-bottle add-on to the base six-bottle set) and the Tora bottles, which are hard to come by these days. I think Harries and the Reg Donnelly bottles, etc., are double or triple the price of the TCC or Tora sets, but I do not know about those.
