LOL, Gallagher! Many friends and associates have encouraged me to write a book about my exploits. But most of my stories are so outrageous that people simply wouldn’t believe me!
However, I seem to recall that John Philips of The Mamas and The Papas (who was present) did relate a somewhat watered-down version of this story in his autobiography. |

I once stole home with a knee that was so torn up and bloody that I could barely walk, with the pitcher crouched at home plate with the ball in his glove before I had hobbled to within 30 feet (10 meters) of it. I was safe.
