So I do a magic ten count, a benson bowl routine and 3(4) ball routine from things I've picked up from the Spongeball Toolbox. I do magic for friends and have done some at work but never performed any spongeball magic yet. So my question is this. Having the Salinas Encyclopedia of Spongeball Magic and Spongeball Toolbox would it be worth getting the Encyclopedia of Spongeball Magic by Frank Garcia Book. I'm not looking for another routine as such. I'm just wondering if the pieces in the book that are not in Ben's dvd are worth getting the book for?

It can also tend to be quite expensive if you find one.

Yes it is rather costly which is why I wanted to compare to the Ben Salinas video.

If you look at the sold items on eBay they range from slightly less than $100 to almost $200.

I had the garcia book and sold it.
i personally think any encyclopedia type books/videos are not nearly worth their price. most of it goes unused. unless you're a collector, there's no reason to get the garcia book. I actually think the patrick page DVD is worth it's weight in gold and is one of the cheapest offerings out there. not just on sponge balls but also the thumb tip, and everything else.

So many resources out there that I believe will give you more options for the same money.
Which is to say if you are willing to spend $100 to $200 to increase you knowledge on this subject. Brad Burt, Patrick Page, Daryl's three volume DVD's. L and L world's Greatest. For less money then then the Garcia book. Here are the contents of Encyclopedia of Spongeball magic. https://www.conjuringarchive.com/list/book/294 |

Don't buy the Encyclopedia a 40 plus year old book. Buy some more recent videos suggested above.
Yes it really does help to see it, especially with Sponge Balls. Anything Jerry suggests above is ABSOLUTELY GREAT. |
