Our 'Baby' was our guinea pig, Ogie. She was a long haired Peruvian who was a big part of our act, a hit with the kids and had a one of a kind personality all her own. She was close to nine when she passed away.
The official cat is KIKI. The area strays are: Legolas Boots Boo-Boo Sister Kitty There are also a host of wild rabbits, opossums, racoons, moles, box turtles, and snappers that my daughter hasn't named yet. |

You realise that many porn stars get their screen names by taking the first name of their first pet and couple it (matron) with their mother's surname. So how about a thread on maternal surnames?

I don't currently have any pets but these are the pets I used to have:
Dog - Benji Bird - Spritzer Hampster - Frosty I have a very short story about 4 fish I once had. I fed them the right amount of food but two of them ate all of it and died because they ate too much and the two others died because they didn't eat anything. |

Didn't think I'd get another dog..I kept saying three dogs and 4 cats was enough. In fact, I've been saying that after two of each. However, I'm a sucker for sad dog/ cat stories.
My latest rescue is a 2 pound 14 oz Chihuahua named Austin. Austin is a long haired Chihauhau which gives him a sort of scruffy look, sort of resembling a rat. I'm happy to report that even tho his three large dog siblings and even the cats outweigh him he's a fiesty little guy. Least he won't outgrow a blamo box! |

I have one "pet" I don't really consider my pets as pets. I know, it sounds stupid, but I consider them as disabled brothers. I know they are animals, but I know they have feelings, and to know that some people treat thier pets horribly because they don't think they have feelings makes me sick. I have one dog. Terry. he is a Yorkshire Terrier, hence the name Terry. He is I believe 3 years old. He is as far as my knowledge the worlds smallest breed of dogs. (I think anyway, tell me if Im wrong.) Although, he is the biggest Yorkshire Terrier I have seen ever. Everyone says that he is small, and he is, but he is big for his breed. He sleeps on my bed at night, I would have him under the covers, but I am deadly allergic to him, as well as any other animal with fur, hair (My dog is hair for that reason) or feathers. Plus, he smells! He really likes to play, and is always running around the house. If you sit down on the couch to watch tv, he will jump up on your lap and sleep there, exept in my case, he knows not to jump on me, so he jumps beside me. Today my dad and I were watching Flight 93, it was on A&E today. Terry jumped up and fell asleep in my dads lap, he was propped up on the chair handle, and he was laying on his back. He was like a little baby. His paws were up just like you would see in a movie. I love him very much. I also have two brothers, Brett and Kyle, they are pretty good pets, although sometimes I got to put them in thier kennels! No, I don't actually do that to my brothers! I have two birds, cockatiels, a girl and a boy. Its funny, because after they mate, the boy starts talking and whisling. He says "pretty bird" and whisles like you do when you see a hot chick. And, our last goldfish died a few months ago. I didn't really treat him like the others tho, because one, he is in a tank, and two, he can only remember stuff for like 6 seconds. Plus, who in the right mind plays with a fish??? And we did have quite a number of hampsters. We bought two, boy and girl, they mated, we got to witness the whole birth thing, quite interesting. And the babies came, then the dad mated with one of his kids, and they had babies, then one of THOSE babies mated with a brother, and we had to get two cages cuz we had 20 something hampsters running around. We were giving them away like hot cakes. The first batch of babies was ok, because the mother knew us, and trusted us. We even got to handle the babaies hours after birth, and she didn't mind! But, the other batches werent so lucky. They were sick. (Probabaly had something to do with the fathers getting it on with the daughters and so on.) And they were unfortunatley dieing off. Some were being eaten by the mother, (She may have been stressed with all the hampsters in the cage, that's why we had to buy more cages.) Once our cleaning lady called my parents at work and said the mothers head was eaten off. We came home to see that it was true. The mother literly had no head. The first father ate it for some unknown reason. And they are now all unfortunatley gone. But, I know they enjoyed thier life, we treated them very well. Another story about those same hampsters. When they were having the second batch on babies, we woke up one morning to see the mother, in the cage, giving birth, but the father was gone! The door was OPEN! we later found him on the ground. Noone let him out, so we came to figure out that the mother literly KICKED him out the door! (Mothers don't let the fathers around when giving birth, the fathers will eat the babies. Rodents are wierd aren't they?) So that amazed us. We had hampsters before those ones too. The first one lasted one day. We were real young, and I came home from school to find that my brother accidently sat on the hampster while he was out. the other lasted about 5 days when he was sucked up by a vacuum cleaner. And they other was dropped. After about the third one, I finally stoped crying over the deaths. I just dealt with it, and forgot about it. So now, currently, we have two birds and a dog. We are trying to sell the birds because of my allergies, and because they make a huge mess of the house. And then we will be left with terry. And that is what we are sticking with. So, hope you enjoyed this very odd story about our lifes pets. -Cory.

Senegal Parrot - Timon (from Shakespeare). Turns out she told us later she's a girl. Well, she would have been Tamora then, but she's Daddy's girl and talks about it all the time. Smart, and a great talker.
Maked Lovebird - Dromio (from Shakespeare). Perfect name, an amazing bird. If you'e never met a Masked Lovebird, you're not going to get it. Peach-Faced Lovebird - Buddy (named before we got him). An OK name for a really neurotic bird who flattens himself in my wife's palm to chill out. Budgie - Jack (or Jack Jack), also named before we got him, he has made a lot of progress in our flock. Parrot owners will understand. Neglected by a teenaged girl for three years before we rescued him, since then a big change. Yours, Paul |
