First, let it be said that I love this effect. Aaron Fisher is a legend and I love his presentation. I was just wondering if anyone ever did it as a ‘thought of card’ effect. In other words rather than having the spec pick a card you riffle, stop when they say stop, and get a glimpse of the card before asking them to shuffle the deck. That way you can remind the spectator that they are merely THINKING of a card. Then cull it where necessary in the act of removing the jokers etc. Then the sandwich effect traps the thought of card. What do people think? Just wondered if anyone had done this?

Funny... I was just reviewing that DVD. It is a great routine . Sure, that's whats great about putting YOUR OWN spin on an effect. It can be a card used from a previous ambitious or other performance as an on-going thread using Search and Destroy as the finale ending. I personally never used your idea for this. But it's a good one.

If you're familiar with what goes on in the Shuffled, Not Stirred section, you know the answer

There's a "thought of card" variation in my book Power Plays. It's called "Finders Keepers." A nice feature is that the deck order is preserved. There's an updated version in my latest book, Tesseract. It's called "Finessed Finders Keepers." The math and location of the named card is made easier in "Finessed Finders Keepers."

There are quite a few tricks out there that are similar in concept to Search and Destroy. Larry Jennings had the Searchers and John Carey has a nice one called Searching for a Sandwich on his Handle with Carey DVD.

Thanks everyone. No Mlippo I’m not familiar. Do give some details please or a link. Mike, I have your book and love it. The effect you mention is passed me by though. Time to revisit. Thanks!

Muzz - do you have Tesseract or Power Plays? The version in Tesseract is superior. If you don't have it, I can email you a pdf.
