Perhaps in the UK this is true. Not in America.

I'm pretty sure this guy is American:
https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/trump-po......48914504 The larger point is this. The system has failed. It's failed huge numbers of people. From the justice system to employment to healthcare, it's failed. No amount of rationalizing is going to change that. People, Black, white, middle and working class know that. The fact that these protests are happening in literally hundreds of cities across the country, is a wake up call. The scale of the civil protests is certainly unprecedented in my lifetime, possibly in the history of this country. People have had it. The social contract is broken. The emperor has no clothes. George Floyd was just the last straw that broke the proverbial camel's back. But make no mistake about it--that was building up for decades, and accelerated exponentially in the last few years.

Yea I was wondering how long it would be before you couldn't help singing your same old tired song.
America is horrible, capitalism is broken, So instead of THAT, how about you give us the "huge" numbers the system has failed and show us the tremendous success socialism has had in this regard. Mind you there ARE people the system has indeed failed. I'm just curious as to how you think it can be fixed? Seems as if voting hasn't helped much.

What's frustrating is that there's call for "Systematic Reform" but then there's only focus on Police Departments. It's bigger than that...
In Minneapolis, you've to Politicians, Police Leadership, and Police Union Leadership, all with different views. Politicians want to stop "fear based" police techniques. The Union President then offers "warrior training" for free to any police union member https://www.startribune.com/minneapolis-......9025622/ In Seattle, we face huge homeless and drug use problems. I've seen people shooting up on street cars downtown. People passed out in parks, in doorways of high end office buildings, and more. Cuts to drug abuse programs in the recession of 2009, and increases in opiod access, have lead to creation of a huge problem. Cuts in programs to help mental illness have also contributed to the problem. So it now falls onto police to deal with many of these folks. And now people complain the police aren't doing enough, (or doing too much). When there are disconnects between leadership vision. When there is lack of support that then push more work onto police, it's truly a systematic reform that's needed. Not just "Police Reform."

Huge numbers of people are in the street nationwide. That's not a success. That's failure. What do you think those people are telling the "leaders?" It's like a magician insisting that his tricks are great, even while the audience is walking out. And then he tries to justify why the audience should like it. Justify all you want, but the people are walking out. It's got to be re-thought.

I think it is a sign that the system is working. When you see no protests about this sort of thing you will know that you are in North Korean territory.

Leaders are people at the front of the parade who gain followers.
The system is is the name of the game, not the rules. Remember the Lennon song about revolution?

Yea sure lets just pretend this is some sort of evidence of anything but an agenda.
Do please tell me what percentage of police encounters result in the death of a person of color? In being the number is far lower than are comfortable with.

? How many times does a day on the news, in your community, and in your neighborhood does it take before you say that number is too high?
About the Twitter T. Greg Doucette item - The last four columns are missing on that spreadsheet so can't gage the date/time of events. He's looking more forthright about his beliefs and agenda than the fellow (Bob Marth) who no longer works as a dispatcher for the Buffalo PD.

Over the past few years, the police seem to be murdering fewer people in the big cities but murdering more out in the sticks.

Have you tried searching for Bob Marth's faceb*k page? Just fact checking - looking for context.

There are many many many places to start, Jon. Pulling on any one thread, and asking "why is it that way?" leads to next steps. You can start with healthcare, housing, work conditions, education, the environment, the legal system, wars, the prison system, gender relations, race relations, and so on. If you follow any of the threads deeply, to their roots, you start to get a fuller picture.
But to follow a thread to the end requires abandoning denial. And denial is the major operating mode for most. It's quite understandable. I don't exempt myself from it. It's necessary. But it's denial. Understand that. Here's a short something I wrote about that a while ago: https://jackshalom.net/2018/11/13/a-childs-garden-of-denial/ History doesn't demand a "plan" that encompasses all answers before the fact. What history demands is to see clearly, have your morals and vision intact, and take action in the required direction. Then you pray to your God, gods, or goddesses that it adds up to a more just society--assuming that's what you're here for.

Zero is the percentage of the one per cent that the police murder every year.
Thus, if everybody was a billionaire, that would solve the problem.
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.
