Jason,

Seems like you have quite a prize there, at lease from a collector's perspective.

Is this similar to MacDougall's method described in Card Mastery and...aside from its collector's value... how practical is it, especially under fire against reasonably knowing players?

Just curious.

Walter Irving Scott had a method, it was claimed only he could do in the book Phantoms of the Card Table by David Britland and Gazzo and some time ago I debated this with Gazzo because I claimed that I had worked out how to it from the description.
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

Was aware of your site. I made a pdf of the book and shared it with a few close friends a while back. Assuming one of them sent it to you? If you ever make it to Vegas, you can look through the real thing.

Cag,

Just a standard heel peek. Why anyone thought we needed an entire booklet on that one move is beyond me, but it's a cool little collectible.

When the world settles down, it would be great to make it over that way to say hello.

Andru,

I haven't given your lists a close look, but I wanted to call your attention to "The Secret of Reading Cards While Dealing." Published in 1921, it's a small monograph dealing (no pun intended) entirely with the heel peek.

Predates "The Phantom" by a decade.

Jason

Thank you, Jason.

Here are my attempts at creating a list of cross-references for Gambling Sleight of Hand, chapter 2. Steve Forte has very kindly given me permission to share this online. I am sure it is far from complete, but I hope some other students and historians may find it useful.
