As you quoted above in the string, I have the utmost respect for Sylvester’s work, he’s a magical genius and showman. To re-release his wonderful Pitch is something that I think people would really get a lot out of. I sure did, and I use my take, (The Quick Pitch) on it in a lot of my coin work as an everyday move to help deceptively traffic coins right before their very eyes.  There’s a lot to learn in Sylvester’s whole routine, just so much wonderful coin manipulation and deception. So yeah dc, I say Amen, Amen & AMEN!

You guys know that I like showcasing good coin magic, old and new, not to mention a bit of the unusual, and all that from the big, small, and all of us.
With that, I hope you guys have been visiting Rick Holcombe’s work here regularly, as it’s just good stuff and plenty of it. His work is of the old order as to coin magic, but kicked up a notch or two with his own high-level seasonings as to moves and thinking. He has a whole host of tutorials posted, and is a good coin guy to follow as to story telling with his magic. He has learned his lessons well in the art and now provides good instruction and magic offerings to all those upon our way. Here’s just a glimpse of the man and his coins…

Y’know, I’ve had the good fortune to have met and became friends with a lot of magicians, the big, small, and all of them here & there along my journey. And I have enjoyed nearly all of them, not just for their magic but also for their personableness and friendship. This magish I’ve known for an awfully long time and learned a great deal from him. He is one of the very best closeup men I’ve come across. He can do it all, coins, cards, rubber bands, dice, whatever. He’s shown me and shared so much with so many as to his magic, which is bold and clever stuff, just the way I remember it from all the old guys I saw doing magic growing up in NYC. I’ll tell’ya, he’s as good as any of them, and better than most as a magician, magic creator and teacher, absolutely prolific. He’s like a Swiss Army knife, always ready in a variety of ways to amaze. I’m so happy he was on my journey, as he gave me a view I couldn’t have gotten anywhere else of the art. He knows all the greats, and they all know of him and respect his magic. I know I sure do, and love the man very much for his friendship, guidance, and the great light along the way he has shown us all time & time again. Here he is using his signature move, that he has done more with than anyone on the planet, past & present…and yet it is still just the tip of the iceberg as to the man and his magic.
You know him, you love him…The Great, Vinny Marini

You know me, I like to bring you a bit of everything, as that’s what it’s all about, coins, cards, whatever. Yeah, there are differing forms of the art, but it all starts from our imagination and filters out into others perceptions of reality as we might remake it…Magic. This is a fine example of that…
Without this, there is no magic, coins, cards, whatever. Enjoy and recharge.

OK, so if you don’t know who Chris Ramsay is that’s OK, but you should really check out his stuff. He’s interesting & fun, and a pretty good closeup guy that spends a lot of time showing you the fine works of others. One of his pet likes in the art is coin magic. And since he’s a SOH guy, he just marvels at this stuff. It’s done by the big, small, & all and he simply recognizes the brilliance of it no matter who’s doing it. Here is a compilation of what he’s pulled together, some of the most amazing coin tricks he’s seen, and a lot of it, I feel the same way…
So, his review, it’s not all about routines, or magical academia, etc., but just about what you see or don’t see, about as well done as it can be done. I doubt many of the creators of some of these moves can do them any better, and they would absolutely marvel at all the fine ability, even if they don’t say so. And to look at this and dismiss it as just puff & flash from kids, is to assume that a lot of these people wouldn’t be able to do all the old coin magic you’ve seen. Believe me, they easily could if they wanted to. A mansion uses the same building basics as a single family home, or something like that. Anyway, see here for yourself. Ahhh, always good to watch a real Master set the table and deliver a fine meal. Everything that’s holy about coin magic comes into play here from a man that created and expertly taught so much of it. This is one of his effects that I practiced relentlessly because it’s just so doggone good. I still think it’s the best one of it’s genre as to coins. I still carry it around with me to this day, a great one to practice and present. If it was the only coin trick you did, you would’ve done all that was necessary to completely amaze. Prepare for a real tutelage…

I might have mentioned this before, but it’s well worth mentioning again as it’s just a wonderful coin trick. And this version is perhaps the best of them all. Magician Tom Gaddis presents it here in an amusing way. So, if you like storylines and pattering, this is for you. If you like neat moves and sequencing, again this one is for you. I still love doing most of the basic trick as it teaches you so much, and you get so much good practice from it. I urge you to check into this routine, or you can go straight to the horses mouth and learn it from Bobo’s, or from Tarr’s wonderful, Now You See It, Now You Don’t. Heck, I even have a take on it in my Mini-Magic Book, Pa’s Famous 3 Coin Trick. Oh well, in the meantime just enjoy.

A lot of strong magic in this thread. I commend you for you dedication to your craft. Inspires me to improve my coin work. I can do a basic for coin matrix but that's about it. My coin vanishes are okay in practice but during audience performance, I feel too nervous and lose my palms or flash too much.

Tim was soooo good. Just effortless in his magic, and always with good, interesting & fun presentations. He really enjoyed the art and was a real showman, and an exceptionally nice guy. He hasn’t been around for some time now, but I know he takes along with him everywhere he goes all the fabulous coin magic he showed us. He was as good as any of the best, with a good SOH handle on all parts of what makes coin magic so amazingly beautiful and so much fun…See here for yourself…

Another amazing coin man, one of the best…I can still remember our first meeting many years ago at a magic convention in NJ, where I also was around the likes of many wonderful others in the art, like a young Eric Jones, Steve Dusheck, Mano The Magnificent, Joel Reindfleisch, Darwin Ortiz, David Roth and so many more. But among them was also this guy, who took the magic world by storm with his unique abilities and magical approach with coins. He still makes me smile…Let’s see if he can still get you too. Maestro, please…
