I like his card tricks. Wonder if this one is good too.
https://www.penguinmagic.com/p/13865 "Paul has married an imaginative conceit to a baffling penetration and the result is pure magic." - David Regal "This routine has it all; a crystal clear premise, a bullet proof method and loads of audience involvement. Minimal pocket space, and an instant reset make this a no brainer." - Ian Kendall Miracle Pick Pocket is a simple effect that is incredibly baffling. R. Paul Wilson has taken a classic effect in magic, and given it a couple of clever twists that will delight your audience. Here’s what happens: A coin it confirmed to be tied onto a loop of string. Five other coins are then threaded onto the loop with the coin threaded through the string locking them into place as an example of an ancient wallet for money with holes in the center. It would take a miracle to remove the coins from the string. The spectators hold the loop on a marker which is then covered by a napkin. With a gentle shake the coins penetrate the cord falling into the magician’s hand proving. At the end everything is examinable. The Miracle Pickpocket has an engaging presentation taught in detail by one of the foremost sleight of hand artists in the world. In addition R. Paul Wilson teaches some optional phases including a visual penetration of the cord through the coin. |

Yes is does look good. Good routining and
It appears to be, as RPW stated in the video, some re-packaging of an effects from an old book (which was reprinted about 15 years ago, on rope tricks). I think it would play well. John

It looks like a mini version of the Checkers Necklace effect.

Just watched the tutorial. This is very clever, yet, easy to perform. Something to have in your possession for an impromptu moment, plus you start and end clean!!

I thought it looked fairly obvious how it was done but wonder what the quality of the coins are? How many coins you get? Coin Size (half dollar or other)? What is the string like? and how is the teaching?
If everything is good, it might be worth the price. Will certainly wait for reviews on this one.

It is kind of hard to tell if the ones in the trailer are the same look as the ones on the logo. The string looks completely different, so if anyone can post a pic of what the props you receive look like I would appreciate it. |

Got me the first time, watched it a second time and worked it out. I don't think this is magical, more like a puzzle but I like it.
Only thing walkaround is that it would take up a lot of pocket space (if you have a hanky just go into Mike Skinners ring on wand/pencil) |

You guys keep saying it's like a puzzle. Where's that coming from?? How many puzzles do you cover with a napkin or have someone else hold part of it while you work it out??? And you keep missing the ending where the coin comes off and then goes back on the string without the cover of the napkin. Is that a puzzle?? You all sound like lawyers trying to be the smartest one in the room.

Well I'm the only one on this thread that said it looked like a puzzle.
If the coins came off individually and the other coins were shown each time still strung up then it would go from a puzzle to a magic effect (Ala Charming Chinese Challenge). The fact that the tricks over so quick makes it more of a puzzle and there's nothing magical looking about it (as they don't see the coins melt through the string and its all covered). Just my opinion though. Do you think this looks magical? |

IMO, it's no less magical than any of the dozens of other effects where things are removed from something else under cover. If it wasn't for the final coin off/coin back on the string in plain site then this wouldn't be any different or better. I think that is what qualifies it as an effect and not a puzzle.
