Does anyone here have the Triception coin set in Morgan dollars by Mark Mason? There is a routine called 4 no more and after watching the explanation video I tried it and the coins are too heavy for the card. If you have this set you will know what I mean. On the video they are using a Kennedy half dollar set and looks quite good. But it seems impossible to do it with the Morgan set. I cannot find anywhere in the set you receive or the video where Mark Mason explains this. Why is this not explained? You cannot even do the cleanup afterwards. The coins are just too heavy. Am I missing something here?

Good question Webtech. I have the WL set and it's no problem, but I can imagine how bigger heavier coins might be troublesome in this effect. If I were you I'd drop MM an email and ask him. He usually responds immediately. Good luck.

I did that after I made this post. Here is his response...
The morgans are as you say much heavier. I have never tried it but I think the magnetic card would not hold the weight of the morgans. We originally made triception in walking liberty and Kennedy halves. We simply had numerous customers who wanted us to make a dollar version. Best wishes Mark I think they just need to put a disclaimer on the website that this effect cannot be done with Dollar sized coins. I guess I need a Liberty set now. |

Yes, you need a stronger magnetic card- I glued thin steel shim almost the size of a card between 2 normal cards- it's now stiff enough and strong enough to support the Morgans

You are right: it’s needs a disclaimer.
Also I ‘m agree with bnburns. You have to make your own Gimmick. Easy to do and also you can change the size of the card (because Morgans are bigger). |
