I received this today and casually examined the props without viewing the tutorial. It's actually pretty well thought out and would definately fry laypersons. Although, I do prefer a hand-written prediction than the pre-printed slips supplied, but that's an easy change. In fact, you could even write down a 'fake' prediction and openly place it into a business card wallet like Patrick Kun's Z-Fold and then later "pretend" to remove it while casually flashing the inside of the (now) empty compartment as your switched-in billet comes into view...I'm sure you can tell that I didn't care for the magic-y Lanyard LOL

When displaying or otherwise handling the celebrities, does anybody else have an issue with certain things not staying in place? Tips on how to get around this issue? Thank you!

Am I the only one who is SICK of celebrities? I think Covid has soured many with celebrities whining about how difficult their lives are being stuck in their multi-million dollar mansions during stay-at-home.
Celebrities are the new - Ugh. KJ |

(which is what I'm doing). I'm sure people who have it will understand what I mean. (the reason I'm saying get a second set is that it works out cheaper - at least in London - than doing it yourself/having it done somewhere, and also you get a 100% perfect match - again I'm sure people who have it will understand; also for those wondering, yes it is actually quite easy to modify but you just have to be a bit careful and patient) |

Very impressed with this. The package is very complete and a lot of work clearly went into this. Impressive especially for the price point. Props are very nice and nice that the box is functional for transport. As others have mentioned, the main issue is where to use this. Not ideal for close up or walk around. Too small for stage. That’s a shame because this really is a nice effect/method

Having now use this in several zoom shows I can highly recommend it. It’s a very magical routine with a lot going on. There is one big problem but as Long as you are aware of that it can be overcome fairly easily.
I have reviewed it in the latest episode of my review show with my son Ryland. I actually did a full performance of the routine as well so you can see what it actually like. If you have any questions about the product please just let me know Here is the link https://youtu.be/uYkrQIiUa1I |

As a future enhancement to the prediction graphics, the back ground for destination prediction should all be the same.(or as similar as possible) That way you could use a card in box ploy for the reveal if you know what I mean

This is a nice idea but the execution looks less than ideal. The cards at the beginning being larger than the prediction at the end looks very peculiar indeed -it starts as a stage/parlour effect and ends with a close up reveal; and the lanyard appears to have no particular connection to the routine.
As for the choice of the bands and celebrities- I guess the Spice Girls and Jennifer Aniston etc would work if it was presented as some kind of time-travel to the 90s effect, but they seem terribly dated and unimaginative. If you can choose a destination, a drink, a band, and a famous person couldn't they have been more contemporary or, better still, more strangely imaginative ( a holiday on Mars, drinking absinthe with Albert Einstein as you get serenaded by Beyoncé, sort of thing). That would seem to lend itself to more interesting presentations. |

Neil, I agree with you on pre-printed predictions. But, I have a thought: I purchased this and I will be performing with it via zoom. I don't know how it will play in person, but I love it for zoom. I have a gig coming up soon and I am getting prepared. I will have a cutout of a plywood bust and a folded paperclipped photo of one participant's face. I ask the group to decide whom amonst them is the "most psychic". After a bit of humor about them selecting the most psychic, not the most starved for attention, I reveal the photo, and it is an emoji face. This goes on the bust and the lanyard goes around the bust's neck. Before revealing the face, I plan on telling the selected person that on the lanyard, are the highlights of a specific trip they can win, but only if they get all 12 details of this trip correct. If they miss JUST ONE, they lose. I then ask the selected participant to decide on a face, anything but happy: sad, angry, confused, etc. I then ask them to make that face for all the rest of the audience to see. Whatever face they select, I unfold the paper and it matches their selected face emoji. This gets clipped onto the plywood bust. It clips from both sides and the top, with bulldog clips that have "ears" and "hair" taped to them. The way I am going to sell the pre-printed predictions (because I too don't generally like pre-printed predictions, they scream "I'm forcing this outcome"), is that I am going to tell them in advance that they have won a trip, a very specific trip, but only if they can predict ALL 12 of the variables (I know there aren't 12 variables, but they will see a dozen choices, so I will take the liberty of calling them 12 variables). This way, they know that the specific details of the trip are on the lanyard. The lanyard plastic envelope is small, so the trip detail size isn't an issue. On zoom, size should never be an issue (try, if you are able, to restrain yourselves from distasteful jokes). So, at the end of the effect, the participant is the one who had to do all the psychic work to match the trip "brochure". KJ |
