Pete Hamill died, age 85, after a fall. He was a heck of a newspaperman, storyteller, and writer of 20+ novels.
He was a Brooklyn fixture for a long time, as were his brothers. When asked who were the three worst human beings to have ever lived, he replied, Hitler, Stalin, and Walter O'Malley. (O'Malley was the owner of the Brooklyn Dodgers baseball team who moved them out to LA in the early 1950s.)
