There was mental prediction that was invented by a locksmith/magician in Clifton, New Jersey. I don't know his name but reportedly he owned a locksmithing business and had a small magic counter. He invented a prediction effect that used a playing card with a small foiled mirror that was hidden by moving a slide, sandwiched between the three layers of the specially constructed gimmick. The magician would hold a selected card above the deck and with his thumb, slide the panel to reveal the card in the thin mirror. Then by use of a key card, the magician would say that the selected card is 27th from the top of the deck. It was perfect. Does anyone remember this effect that maybe was called something else?

Not this device, but very similar would be Chazpro's Card Swami or a simple sh***r.
