Patrick Redford has a new memdeck book coming out.
Despite the confusingly similar title to Temporarily Out of Order (not the best marketing decision there), this is a different book: http://patrickredford.com/product/sleightly-out-of-order/ |

Anyone who already has "Temporarily" will have been waiting with bated breath for this, so I don't think it is a bad marketing decision at all. Anyone too dumb to spot the difference probably should leave memdeck work alone...

There are only so many at the pre-sale price which was first offered to members of the FB group and now everyone. As soon as the pre-orders are sold, the book goes to print and gets in our hands all that much sooner. Probably the best way to go with all that is going on in the world (in general and in magic). I'm already in and already anticipating the 3rd book of the series (down the road).
Plus, If you act now during the limited number of Pre-Orders being taken at the discount, you receive a PDF Sampler of 4 effects from the book to wet your whistle while you wait. Or, you can purchase the sampler only and use the discount code that comes with it "AFTER" the pre-order sale is over and the book goes "live". So, Take full advantage of the special at the pre-sale cost and get the sampler free, or buy the sampler for $17, try the 4 effects, If you like it, use the discount on the full book later, if not, you got 4 effects for a decent price (but If you do memdeck, especially Redford, I think you will like it) I do.

I have learned a lot about “books” for instance from him. Although some may have found them annoying, I learned the difference between a “first edition” and a reprint still being a first addition which has made me an honest bookseller. That is only one small example of the many things I have learned from his posts they the years. If you don’t like what he has to say, skip over his posts. It really is that simple (there are many members I skip everything they post ) much waisted than calling them names.

I think in this thread he's been misinformed, not at all helpful and pointless.
Patrick made it clear from the start that this would be a trilogy of books. Anyone who has the first will know about the second. Tim's critcism of the title being too similar to the first is just dumb. Imagine all those people who ignore the other 6 Harry Potter books because they've already got the first one. He also seems unaware how long we've been waiting on this. |

I find him brutally annoying. I'm just being "brutally honest".

Furthermore, jumping onto a thread with the intention of correcting someone when he obviously doesn't know what he's talking about is annoying. Poof Daddy, I assume you haven't read most of his posts, but he tends to do that a lot.
His post above is just a minor example. Patrick Redford's book, "Sleightly Out of Order" was announced a few years (plural) ago. Why couldn't the gentleman be talking about that? Why should Ted McManus assume he meant to post this in the Larry Jennings thread? Like I said, this is just an example. I don't really care what anyone else thinks about Ted McManus. It seems that most people on the Café think he's great. To each his own. |

So now we've dealt with Tim's misinformation let's focus on the actual work. I love the stack, I love the ability to switch to Stebbins and I can't wait to see Patrick's further works with his special baby.

Just the same for me. While you can still do all the stack independent effect like Pit Hartling's Poker Formulas, it opens up so much more like gambling demonstrations and the whole world of SI Stebbins effects very easily.

As in infrequent stack user, I love how quickly I can set this up from a shuffled deck. And I don't even have the stack memorized!!
I can even, should I choose to, cover the above with a routine or two. Part of the credit goes to Hamman, but the rest is all Redford. |

There are some marvellous strategies on the accompanying facebook group for different ways to get into a stack. I'm playing with one which takes 2 deals and currently takes me about 2 minutes and I'm playing it as a mathematical card trick - so I can go from shuffled deck to stack and do a strong effect to get there. Of course Patrick has strategies for this in his book using the wonderful Chinese Shuffle but I wanted one trick rather than a series of tricks.

There was recently two fantastic zoom sessions with Patrick himself thanks to the Facebook group Mem Deck Workers and the Redford Stack Facebook group.
In both cases Patrick gave an overview of his stack possibilities, and presented exciting routines from his forthcoming Sleightly Out Of Order book. I enjoyed these sessions very much and can't wait to receive this book. Still a few days available before it is sent for printing as he announced. Another great annoucement was the recent video release of "Thought Master", another terrific gem from Patrick Redford. A very two phases routine starting from a randomly shuffled deck to end in any stack. |

I am making my way through the book.
It is fantastic just as the first volume. I will give a complete review once I’ve finished reading, but if you are a fan of the Redford stack, this is definitely something you need to pick up. Madison |

The book has not been printed yet. 150 copies to be sold before it goes to print and I think there’s still 23 of that to go.
