Corona has destroyed the magic business. Let me know what you think.

No its not. Sorry, but I disgaree with you on all of this. So much in that video was a great example of magician's thinking on several levels and and simply untrue. What this current situation will do is separate those that truly understand the business and industry, and those that just perform magic.

The magic business is a subset of Show Biz. Is everyone in live theater, music, and in motion pictures just going to give up ? No more live theater ? No music concerts? No more movies? I don't believe that is going to be the case. (although the movie business was already shifting from theatrical exhibition to online streaming as the main form of distribution , and that's not going to change , virus or no virus).

Do we learn anything from history ? Theaters were closed and show business was very slow during the horrific "Spanish flu" pandemic of 1918 - 1920 (there were several "waves" of that deadly flu), which so far still tops Covid-19 as a killer disease. The number of deaths from the Spanish flu pandemic were estimated to be from 17 million - 50 million people worldwide , some estimates are even higher. But let's just take the "low" number of 17 millions deaths from the influenza pandemic of 1918 - 1920. To date Covid-19 has killed just over 1 million people worldwide. That's horrible , of course, but it's not even close to the death toll from the Spanish Flu pandemic ... which did not permanently put an end to magic or other forms of show business. That's my point. I haven't found any articles or letters in magic mags from that period like 'The Sphinx' which were predicting that magic was dead and done because of the killer flu pandemic , that there would be no return to normal life after the pandemic. If it is assumed that nothing ever changes from this point in time , no "herd immunity" develops , no vaccine is developed , that we're just going to exist like this from now on , then maybe someone could try to make the case that coronavirus has permanently killed live show business (including magic).

I agree. It's amazing to me how some here have immediately gone to this "panic" type thinking and mentality back as early as May. It tells me they do not know and understand the entertainment business or are simply uneducated.

Many performers have returned to doing live shows. They may not be 100% the same as before, but they've adapted to the current entertainment landscape, including even some new opportunities, which a professional performer show always be doing long before and after COVID or similar obstacles.

Zoom and virtual shows have already started to wane, which were never good in the first place for the industry, but only more of a self-serving thing anyway (with few exceptions.)

Also keep in mind, from an economic standpoint, the entertainment business was, I believe, the only industry that thrived during the Great Depression in the U.S. On an emotional level, people need entertainment during hardship as well. Magicians should think of themselves as providing that service... as entertainers more than magicians. Furthermore, when it is safe again, people will likely crave live entertainment even more so, after having been deprived for so long... and they likely will have greater appreciation for the experience. Just my thoughts (Apologies, I have not had a chance to watch the YouTube video yet).
