Sam, have you been creating effects for a long time and this is your first major one or was it something that you fell upon by chance and developed? I'm just interested to know.

I'm always playing around with new stuff, devolpong new effects and concepts.
When I create somthng though I like to hold on to it and work on it and nothing else,i try devolping the effect to make it more visaul and clean as possible. Nemesis is my first major release, but not my first creation, and I'm very happy it was done with Penguin Magic. Thanks for your intrest, Best, Sam |

Two thumbs up and I simply hope that not too many people will notice this effect as I want to be those exclusive magician to perform this excellent effect!

I am 72, retired and always liked magic. I saw someone do the Nemesis and wonder just how EASY it really is to do. I would like to do some tricks but need the BASIC of all tricks to begin with. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Is it just me or did a few posts that were not so supportive of nemesis get deleted? I could have swore there were more posts and two pages to this thread yesterday....
what good is a review section if you delete bad reviews? |

Mark: I don't know exactly how this trick works, but I DO know it requires some sleight of hand. If you "need the BASIC of all tricks to begin with," you might consider a book like "Self-Working Card Tricks" by Karl Fulves. ("Self-working" means no sleight of hand is required.) A few more suggestions for you...
1) Do a search on this forum for beginner card tricks and beginner magic. You'll find plenty to read. Here's a start: http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......;forum=3 http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......forum=41 http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......forum=41 http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......;forum=2 2) If you want to learn some basic card sleights and tricks by watching a DVD, check out Penguin Magic's "Born to Perform Card Magic with Oz Pearlman." From there, I'd get Michael Ammar's "Easy to Master Card Miracles #1." 3) The trick you asked about, Nemesis, is sold as on instant download on Penguin Magic. Nemesis requires some sleights, but some Penguin instant downloads don't. Check out Do As I Do and Renegade. 4) Get yourself an Invisible Deck, learn it, and prepare to amaze. Good luck to you, and enjoy yourself. |

I recently purchased this instant download (I don't normally) and I thought it was well worth the price. I give it a 4.5/5 stars. You aren't clean at the end, but the ditch is fairly easy and you have enough misdirection for it since the effect is very visual and high impact.

I'm thinking of buying this effect, but since I am a "book guy" I generally don't like the idea of paying $10 for a single trick unless it is *really* strong.
I currently use Bannon's Strangers' Gallery as my preferred color-changing deck effect. I like the Bannon routine for two reasons: - It doesn't require me to secretly ditch a bunch of cards to end clean (actually, the presentation provides logical motivation to openly pocket the gaffs at the end) - It leaves me with a *complete* regular deck with which to continue performing. Does Nemesis meet both of these requirements? I suspect the answer is NO. Thanks, Kevin |

Strangers Gallery is great but the 4 cards that change color are gaffs. So when you say "Does it require me to ditch a bunch of cards at the end to end clean?"
The answer is YES. You have 4 cards that are dirty as sin and changed miraculously one at a time. I know I'D want to see those cards. |
