To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the 1921 Morgan silver dollar, the House of Representatives have just approved the 2021 Morgan silver dollar:

For those who use Morgans in your coin routines, would you consider getting any? Looks like these would be fun to collect. But I guess it would depend on how much each coin costs.

Unless it is crazy expensive, I would purchase several.

I believe it will be between $10 to $$20 USD per coin.

If they are 90% silver, I can't imagine them being less than $21 (bulk silver value)..

And when will matching expanded shells and copper/silver gaffs be available?

After you send some to Roy Kuepper and he goes to work. Smile
How many magicians does it take to change a lightbulb? Regardless, for magicians darkness is a time for d'lite.

Not to be a downer, but these will be pricey coins if minted and released. They will be collectors coins. You are much better off visiting a coin shop and finding some matching date morgans that are in an almost uncirculated condition.

I totally agree
With one exception, all of my Morgan gaff coins are replica's.
And going forward, that is what I prefer.

No more real original Morgans.

The release dates for the 2021 Morgan silver dollars were just announced, and here is the bottom line: $85 per coin

https://catalog.usmint.gov/product-sched......c565b4b7

Despite the price of $85, each release is expected to sell out quickly to collectors and coin enthusiasts.

Very expensive, even considering they are 100% silver (and not 90%).
But still a "must" for collectors.
I will try to get one for sure.

A four coin set w/ shell would probably be $500 or $600. I’ve never cared much for uncirculated 1921 Morgan’s for magic purposes. Because they’re not worn, they feel very bulky. While the 2021’s will be a nice collector piece, I wouldn’t be interested in using them for magic. Most laymen these days don’t know what a Morgan dollar is. For them, this coin won’t be any different.

If you want a better investment, get older sulver coins. Better for magicians, and more interesting. These serve no extra purpose for magic and are really only for collectors.

Could possibly be used for a minting routine. Turn your old Morgan into a shiny new one complete with current date.
You'd get a couple months of use out of it. Just in time for all those new live bookings to kick in. 😃👍🏻
