I send a mail to the ellusionist support a few days ago. Now I got an answer including a new cipher link. So it is working again.
Gaz you may be right. But this app works for me and I still like it. |

You may think this has nothing to do with the thread, but bear with me...
...in 2012 the wife and I got tickets to see Madonna in Dallas. Her opening act? A DJ. A frickin' DJ. An international sensation like Madonna and we have to suffer through a guy punching buttons on his laptop. It's an insult. The DJ came on at 7pm and "played" for about an hour. Madonna didn't finally take the stage until about 10:30. No announcements over the PA, no apology, no ETA, no consideration whatsoever for the 50,000 people in attendance. All 50,000 just had to sit there minute to minute to minute not knowing if we had time to go get a drink, go to the bathroom, anything, not knowing if the show was going to start in 2 minutes or 2 hours, nothing. Needless to say people were getting really upset. After Madonna finally took the stage and finished her first song, all she said is, "I finally made it!" to a raoucus roar from 49,999 people (I was still ****ed). Bottom line? Nobody gives a bleep. People can be bleeps and get away with it. Nobody boycotted Madonna and nobody's going to boycott Ellusionist. |

It is an apple to oranges comparison, comparing Madonna (an international star and rarity to come to the AAC in Dallas with a committed, large following) to Ellusionist (of all things). What you described is quite common amongst rock stars/pop stars, making people wait before coming on stage. It is a practice I cannot stand, making people wait an hour before coming on stage. Maybe, that is the reason why I don't go to overpriced concerts to watch divas, male or female. I understand your point even though your analogy is a huge stretch. There is a trust factor that must exist, especially between a magician (purchaser) and a creator/producer. This is due to how unique the magic industry is. If people don't trust you, they do not do business with you. Bottom line. Ellusionist caused this lack of trust for their most loyal of customers on their own. All to bring notice to their new layout, which looks like crap on my smartphone. With a name of Metal Magician, I thought you would tell us a story of you going to a Megadeth concert with your wife, not a Madonna concert |

LOL! Thanks Gaz. I love Android so much, but not for magic. Wish things were different in the world of Android and magic based apps!

The trouble is Sean android apps are so easily copied iPhone security is far better . Plus of course their are so many androids so a lot of hassle for a creator who then will get robbed by pirates imo . Also updating iPhone is easier as it’s just one platform unlike android , I reckon when you get my iPhone 11 it may sway you to eventually make the change lol Gaz 🙂

That excuse is overused. There are plenty of app developers that have overcome that issue in Magic and elsewhere.

Gaz Lawrence Inner circle 5991 Posts |
That is not overused , I know untold creators who have either never used android or if they have they then have had to quit updating the upgrades . You obviously have no idea of how much it costs to bring an app to the market and actually keep it there . It’s far easier to buy a second hand iPhone for your magic if you like magic so much , jeez I am giving my old iPhones away and you guys aren’t prepared to even buy a cheap second hand one Gaz 😂

Android is so diverse, that upkeep/development is far more challenging. I wish there were more magic apps for Android, but there is not. From a magic app perspective, Android has fallen way behind, sadly. And this is coming from a lifelong Android guy... |

You can Jailbreak an IOS device. If someone wants to steal your stuff, they will. Inject has an Android App, E was doing Web apps. It can be done.

Gaz Lawrence Inner circle 5991 Posts |
That’s one of the exact reasons why Ellusionist has gone down the pan . As Will , Geraint and Lloyd were so out of their depth in that department imho .
Jail breaking your own iphone is one thing but android apps can actually just be sent to other android users for free it’s a complete joke . If you really want the best apps and them to update for the long haul iPhone will always be on another level by far . It keeps them away from muggles and I like that a lot Gaz 🙂 |

Piracy is super hard on ios for a few reasons. Unless you jailbreak it is impossible. Even if you do jailbreak and get the file to share it the other person has to be jailbroken also. While on android it can be done super quickly. The reason why inject was fine is because it is an in app purchase and that can't be pirated or it is much harder. Webapps are the same thing almost impossible to pirate. Pegasus definitely get ithump. Its probably the best value for a magic app there is.
