I have this great trick called In Lizzy's Hands. You can buy this trick from Brad Burt. The effect is you pull out this letter you got that was written by Lizzy Borden. As you read the letter out loud, the more you get into it the more and more angry you get, and at the end of the letter you slam your hand on it. When you lift it up there is a bloody hand print. The audience has seen your hands the whole time and there was never any red on them. I do this when I do Halloween parties and it plays real big.
I want to know what anyone thinks of the effect or if you do the effect. Please let me know. Keep the Magic ALIVE Tom James |

Tom-
This effect is something I do on special occasions. It requires a good bit of acting, but as you said gets a good reaction. I have made up a special something that delivers a woman-sized hand print to the document. (I am 6'2" and 220#.) My hand print does not look right. CHEERS!!! DJM :stout:

What is your special something that gives a woman's hand print? David from Brad Burt's magic shop does an old witch letter. You can buy the paper blank so you can do other things with it. I have tossed around with doing some Jack the Ripper or Dracula, even some things like current serial killers. What are your thoughts?

I used this in my Halloween show last year (over 100 performances). I thought this would be a minor effect in the middle of my act to keep attention focused, but people reacted to it rather strongly.
I used it much differently than In Lizzy’s Hand. In my story, I was a DA's apprentice assisting in the investigation of a series of killings. I printed a crime scene diagram on the paper. There comes a point in the story where I pass out while reviewing evidence. As I act this out, the handprint appears. I would go on about how another murder appeared at just about that time. I never looked at the handprint and pretended not to notice it. The audience did though, and often confronted me with it at near the end, pointing out that I must be the killer. I have come to love this effect. I too would like to see more ideas for its use. Dave |

That is great. I love this effect so much— it is just that, an attention grabber. If you are into bizarre magic then this is a trick for you. I am glad it has worked for you, just as it has for me. tom |
