Possible the most useful sleight is the Utility Pass/Switch in its many variations.
Once mastered it can be adapted to many effects (and is). Does that make it "best?" Note that a sleight is never a trick, but a technique that has a"never happened" quality, and a means for accomplishing some purpose later revealed as part of an effect. It is not a 'trick' either. So, I assume you mean effects the employ a sleight rather than a gimmick, gaff or apparatus. But many of those require a sleight also. Of all of the effects I have performed in 60+ years, the one "most requested" was a change of a white and black stone in the hands of spectators.
