FInally placed my order. Let me just say this with zero malice... but that was probably the most frustrating buying process I've been through in a while. Delays happen, which I don't fault martin for but that is frustrating. But that's besides the point. I get an email with the discount code which is very kind of Martin saying my unit is ready, I place the order using the code. When I go to checkout, though, turns out that to use paypal, Martin requires the buyer to cover his paypal fees and he calls it a "handling" fee. It's only 15 dollars or so, but the discount makes up for it. I can use a credit card but then there is around an 8 dollars fee. The only "free" way to pay is by bank transfer which I tried, unsuccessfully several times. His instructions he gives invovled signing up for a free service and going in a round about way which was quite frustrating, especially when it doesn't work. So I email Martin because the order is in with his website, but I hadn't paid yet. So I just asked if I could use paypal. Didn't get a response, but I did get a second email this morning saying that the code I was given was too high a discount, so the order was canceled... So I had to place the order another time, which while I was doing that, I got a 3rd email saying that that code was also incorrect and that I was to use the 3rd code. which I did and just paid the extra 15 dollars to use paypal as that's simpler. So I think my order is in.. I guess we will say. Again, no malice or ill will at all but I've never been so frustrating trying to give someone money. I'm sure the product will be fantastic and I'm eager to receive it but just wanted to let others know that if you plan on getting this, pour yourself a shot of your favorite beverage to help take the edge off

Something similar happened to me!
I ordered about 12 hours ago, and also used Paypal. I also considered the Paypal fee was not a big deal. After some account registration hazzle, I thought first that my account did not registred, but an email told me it was ok! And an other email told me that my order was also ok. Paypal sent me a confirmation, but I found that the promised discount of 35 euros was nowhere to be found in the confirmation email. Well I thought that maybe Paypals payment process is too quick for a discount code to be registred. (But I put the discount code into a Paypal message box.) Then I got an email from Martin, I must admit I did not understand. It was something about a wrong discount code, or something. And to use an other! But, I had already sent payment and ordered!? I tried to send an email to Martin at IDEAA LABS but an error message popped up in my mailbox telling me that my latest mail was sent to an addess that nobody was watching. So once again I search and found a place on the IDEAA LABS site to send messages. Phew!!! Martin, if you see this: I hope my order and payment for order R3IY01472 is ok! Well this is getting really funny though!! Looking forward to th Switch Board though! Thomas W |

My replacement Switch Board is finally moving in UPS's system and the current expected delivery date is Monday. However, Martin has cautioned that a little wait in customs might delay it. So, fingers crossed for sometime next week.
At least I have the test board that I can fiddle around with to practice my routine. Mark

My replacement arrives today, Friday.
I will post my thoughts after I play a bit with it as I am used to the routines and programming with my previous board. I’m sure it will be great.

I ordered one the other day only to have it cancelled and money refunded due to some kind of error. I, for one, will not be re-ordering it again. My impression is that no matter how good the product might be, it is not a very good way to do business. Problem after problem from a company that is not in the USA just does not suit me.

I also ordered a Switch Board (and some spare parts) yesterday using the discount code Martin had sent me. I have to admit that I was quite surprised to see the SB discounted down to 179€ (from 245€) after entering the code because Martin had announced a prize reduction of 35€ (only) in his email. Later he sent out another mail telling that the discount erroneously had been to high (due to a typo) and he cancelled all orders that had used to wrong codes. So I had to order anew with the corrected discount. All in all and regarding all the posts here about Martin/IDEAA lab being quite supportive and helpful (e.g. with the static electricity problems) I have no big problems with that. A minor point is that I paid now twice for the Switch Board by bank transfer and therefore have to wait a bit longer for the payment to be refunded.

I think they are fine with their support. As a business man, I have on occasion made an error when quoting a price to my clients. When that has happened I bite the bullet and let the sale go through. After all the client purchased in good faith and it was my error. I do not feel the client should pay for my mistake. I just don't think it is good business to refund the money and make me re-order this again at a higher price due to an error on their part.

Ok guys, I received my replacement Switchboard several hours ago.
I’ve been playing with it at least 3 hours with the same effects and routines I enjoy the most and I had none of the previous “static reset problems” I had with the other one, so I want to thank Martin and his Ideaalab team for their great effort in sending us completely free the replacement unit. It just took a bit of patience but Martin kept us informed and updated with videos and pictures in FBook. Now its time to keep learning with this marvelous prop I’m sure many of you will enjoy as much as I am doing. I’ll keep buying in the future to this little company but with great products and ideas. I have many of their releases including “Clonk” or IpodRF and it is still there helping in my show with no fails, so “je m’enleve le chapeau” Martin. Great support! Kiketron

According to an email I've got, and also from a post on Facebook, Martin said:
"...all orders will need at least a week for processing. We are still testing the units and packing. Shipping will begin at the end of next week aprox..." On their way! |

UPS sent me an email stating that I have a package from Martin scheduled to be delivered tomorrow (May 17). However, I have a sneaky feeling that it is just an automated email based on the original estimated arrival date. I will be pleasantly surprised if it does show up tomorrow, but I'm not holding my breath.
UPS has changed its tracking site. The customer gets FAR less information than before. It simply says, "On the way" and then the ESTIMATED arrival date. There's no way to see the package's progress. I have no idea if it has even left Spain yet. It's as if UPS figured out that they REALLY suck at package delivery, so instead of giving the customer SOME information, they'll just keep the customer in the dark as long as possible. Mark
