There website is up and running. Reads like they are expanding to other neighboring countries.

Just google 3D Magic Works and you are there.

I don't think so. Nothing happened on their page for over a year. They announced the "dragon trilogy", but just two pieces were released: "Trapped" and "Trained". So I don't think they are still in business. Maybe it's just a break?!

I believe Kent Bergmann, who owns 3D Magic Works, is still around, he just doesn't appear to be making magic right now. I don't know if that means that 3D Magic Works is not "still in business." I just think it means that Kent has stopped production for now. A hiatus if you will.

Now that may be semantics, but until the website is shut down I don't think we should assume Kent is down for the count.
Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.

He very well could be laying on the floor dead from the virus. Maybe someone could contact the local authorities for a wellness check.

Kent has always responded to my emails but I’ve gotten no responses over this past year.
This is definitely not like him. There has been zero activity on the 3D Magic Works website for over a year so I really hope he is ok!!

I have only recently inquired and again received no answer 🤔

This gives me great cause for concern ... hope he is well ...

Has anyone heard from Kent at 3D Magic Works? It's been a long time since anything new has been posted on his website, and those he said were able to carry his products are 100% out of stock, same as his 3D Magic Works webpage. I was a big fan so I keep checking back and nothing. I sincerely hope he is OK.

This is indeed a great mystery. No member is close enough to pay him a visit?

Someone mentioned a possible hiatus, but to just suddenly stop right in the middle of his planned trilogy would be very odd, and frankly not a very courteous thing to do to his loyal customers without even an email or a mention on his website. Kent is a much better businessman than that and it would certainly be out of character for him.

I certainly hope he is okay but I'm getting a bad feeling about this. Fingers crossed for a happy ending to this story.

The link doesn't work in the EU. What does it say?

Eric, the link is for the opening to a restaurant, can you elaborate what does it mean?

Mentions him opening a restaurant around the time he went AWOL from 3DMW.

About the only clue we have from that article that this is the same guy is the location of Lino Lakes, MN. I don’t remember the location of 3D Magic Works.
Eric, before posting that I presume you did some detective work to establish it is the same Kent. While not common, the last name isn’t so unique that I would suspect there would be more than one person with that name.

Anyone know if Kent is from Lino Lakes and been in the restaurant business for most of his adult life?
The timeline seems to add up as well.

I can not read the article (perhaps someone can make a screenshot and share it for us living in the EU?). But from what I understand Kent would have opened a restaurant?!
I have had a lot of contact with Kent Bergmann since he released his 3D-Magic Works line and I can NOT believe the person in that article is the same Kent - Kent B. is a very kind person who, when you contact him, always replies. I can not believe he leaves his passion for magic and his customers without any notification ... Smile
Many of us have tried contacting him and there was no response for several months.

I have found this:

Bergmann Magic LLC
6424 Langer Lane
Lino Lakes, MN 55038
Categorized under Magicians. Our records show it was established in 2012 and incorporated in Minnesota.
Source: https://www.manta.com/c/mb42k40/bergmann-magic-llc

I don't know that website is reliable.

I have found the article accesible for everyone: https://issuu.com/whitebearpress/docs/citizen_10_10_19

Interestingly, Kent did the same disappearance act when he abandoned his Z-wood Magic line. No one knew what happened, then suddenly 3D Magic Works popped up. History seems to be repeating itself. Could this be another transition?

If you like 3d printed magic, then you really should check out this producer. He makes some really great props.

I had actually spoken with Kent before things went silent and he indicated that he already had an idea for part three of the Dragon Trilogy. He was trying to decide between one of two ways of accomplishing the effect. It is too bad that it never made it into production.
I have no idea what has happened but I do hope the he and his family are ok.
