Hello all,

I searched a few different ways for the answer to my question, but haven't seen my issue directly addressed. I am trying to learn more about how to lay two cards down as one on a table. For example, in the trick, "The Observation Test" out of Royal Road, the card handler is directed to employ a move and end up laying two cards down together as one. My handling has progressed to be able to fluidly lay down cards without any sliding, but I'm running into an issue where the cards are not all warped the same way and it is obvious from the spectator's viewpoint that there are actually two cards being laid down.

I have tried bending and working the cards with the hidden card in the stack, but the amount of handling that has required for all to be lay uniformly on the table is creating an awkward amount of time of me talking while I play with the cards.

Any ideas on how to get these cards to lay flat together or at least all be warped similarly so the "hidden" card is not immediately obvious?

Are these new or fresh cards or an older broken in deck? I have found that when I have trouble with something, going to a fresh deck can help a great deal. I do not detect warping in new decks.
So many sleights...so little time.

I have been working with a couple of decks for the past couple of months... Great idea. Maybe it's time to open up a couple new packs.

Use a fresher deck is the answer.

But when in a pinch, and a fresh deck isn't available, I find a couple firm card springs will bring them in to a uniform bend.
