Hello, everyone. I'm a new hobbyist/amateur. I began learning some simple card tricks to entertain kids early this year. I've been lurking here and elsewhere on the internet, soaking up what I can, and I now also spend most of my limited free time and even more limited free money on progressing in this hobby, and expanded my audience to include adults Smile

Most of my favourite tricks are from John Bannon, but I also love Shuffle-Bored, Shuffling Lesson, and some other things from here and there. I've dabbled a little in rubber band tricks and some other stuff, but I keep coming back to cards. Gaffs and stacks interest me, but my limited repertoire is all FaSDiU because I don't trust myself to remember what I have in my pockets if it's not a normal deck. So I've worked out ways to do any set-ups on the fly.

I would like to share some things and see what others think, or maybe even they might be helpful for someone else. These include my handling of Shuffling Lesson (which gets rid of the risk that the spectator will mess up shuffling their half), and something I call Dead Gardening (a combination of Bannon's Dead Reckoning and Gardner's Lie Speller, which allows me to perform the trick from a shuffled deck of only 52, using a key placed on the fly and no other set-up).

Is there much chance that anyone would be interested in hearing about this stuff from a noob? Either way, I've learned an awful lot from my lurking here and I'm thankful to all of you.
