Which magicians are involved in the animation process of this short movie? There are some "real" moves on the trailer!

When we got to animation… we were able to take practically our whole animation team to the Magic Castle as a “research trip”. And for a lot of our animators, they hadn’t really seen that caliber of magic anymore. We had an amazing time. It was so great to see people who probably weren’t even that interested in magic being like, “Oh my God! That was the most amazing thing I had ever seen!” And I really feel like that helped their excitement and passion for their project and who Gerard was – seeing all those magicians with such a love for this art.

Plot
Toward the doldrum end of his shift, a sprightly mailman sorts envelopes and packages nimbly with the flick of a wrist. Despite working in a post office all his life, Gerard has dreamed of one day finding his audience as a famous magician like his childhood hero. With effortless dexterity that accompanies mastery, this delightfully overgrown kid practices magic every day with a special coin… a gift from The Great Vivonti. When an inquisitive young girl named Jules wanders upon his practiced routine, she’s dazzled by his talents. With the help of his cherished coin, Gerard charms his first-ever audience member with an impromptu magic show. In this moment, two artists — separated by decades — unknowingly set off a chain reaction that will change both of their lives forever.

The full short video is about 7-1/2 minutes.

Apparently, it's now streaming exclusively on Peacock, as of January 2021 (I read this on the Dreamworks Animation page on Facebook).

However, some people have put the full video onto Facebook. Here's one link to the full video.

I think you should be able to watch it, even if you don't have a Facebook account.

Awesome. Yes it is on both Peacock and Facebook. While you can anticipate what is going to happen, it was very entertaining and amazing graphic arts.

Very nice 'short movie'. Jeff McBride started his Mystery School Monday this week with this piece.
