Yes I work for Penguin. My real name is Shaun. Anyway, I’m loving this trick I hope people get a chance to try it out for real people.

Hey guys, Josh Burch from Penguin here. I'm scratching my head at all of this.
What are we doing? Is this what the Café has become? "Let's all try to guess this method..." Pretty dispicable. If you have questions feel free to reach out. Every statement in the trailer is 100% true. Completely on gimmick completely borrowed. You can perform this naked, not that you'd want to. Use a borrowed bill and a borrowed marker. Nothing is added or taken away. If you feel the need to make guess at the method so you can either: -Do the trick without paying for it. -Or so you can pat yourself on the back. You're the reason magic companies don't release longer trailers with full performances. It's a $15 trick. If it looks a little odd and you don't think it'll fit your style then I'm sure someone else will purchase it and let you know how they feel about it. Something I've noticed in this thread is that all the people poo pooing it haven't purchased it, all the people who have seen it live or purchase the actual effect like it a lot. Every time I visit the Magic Café I'm reminded why I don't come here very often. |

If you don't have the mental capacity to watch the demo of a four minute trick, does your opinion really matter?

Gosh, tough room I guess.
I actually kind of enjoyed Kyle's presentation. Reminded me a little of John Archer's fabulous bank night routine. AFA the trick itself...I think it has a lot of potential but I need to see more reviews first before being able to make a judgement on it. |

Tough to create a truly impromptu effect. So I give him a lot of credit for coming up with the concept. I didn’t care for the patter but that’s obviously customizable. The key question is how long it takes to get into position. Based on the demo, it looks similar to most rubber band routines where you have to do six steps to get ready and hope no one notices. That’s the part that concerns me

The trailer features a full performance, this is a luxury we rarely get in magic. Kyle's performance is fun and engaging. I wish I was that comfortable in front of a camera. If Kyle was performing this in a bar, or for a paying audience he'd bring the place down. Considering the situation we are all in at the moment he had to perform it directly to the camera, and he nails it. The trick is incredibly practical, and pretty easy to do. It's a good trick, with a funky presentation, and a devious secret. |

SPECULATION -VS- EXPOSURE: It is , after all, only natural to speculate the possible method to a new trick or effect. Comments as to possibilities of a method are just that - Possibilities. One person may say; "I think it might use a piece of velcro" while another may comment; "No, it probably uses a magnet". Either scenario is okay. |
