Years ago my cousin and I headed up to Appleton, Wisconsin for their annual Houdini Festival. The night before the festival, Mark and Nani were performing at Barnes & Noble.
There was maybe 15 children and their parents. I think we were the only adults without their kids. At first I felt bad; here was this icon of magic performing for such a small group in a bookstore. But soon I forgot that as he was so full of energy, so engaging, and so joyful as he performed. It was mesmerizing. The best was that none of the kids stuck around so we got to talk to Mark and Nani. They must of spent an hour with us...it was amazing. And it turns out, wasn't suppose to perform that night...he was just restless and wanted to get out and give a show for some kids. He truly was a wonderful man.

What amazing heartwarming stories in this thread. Mark on TV in the 1970s was my first recollection of magic with Magic Circus and spots on interview talk shows. I mowed yards for a month to save up and buy the Complete Course in Magic and it was a huge influence on my shows. I would have liked to have met and thanked him for his influence.

I was given the Mark Wilson course for my 13th birthday. I grew up in a small rural town so my parents would have had to travel to Melbourne (3hr drive) to buy it. As a young boy that book gave me so much joy exploring its wonderfully illustrated pages. I was very surprised to read of his passing.

Mark Wilson's book was one of my first books on magic. It was a great help and huge source of inspiration to me.
R.I.P. Mister Wilson 😥

Same here. It was my first real magic instruction tome.
Memories of Mark and Nani take me way back to my boyhood. It was my roots.
The difficult must become easy, the easy beautiful and the beautiful magical.
