I'm trying to recall a card effect that I believe I saw some time ago on Masters of Illusions, though it may have been on Fool Us. Each member of the audience has a deck of cards and, at the instructions of the performer, they toss cards, move some to the bottom of the deck, etc. until everyone arrives at the same card.

I can't recall the name of the magician or the effect.

Many thanks!

It doesn't use a full deck but I'm pretty sure you're thinking of Woody Aragon's "Your Other Half" from his book, A Book in English. It has been released as a separate download as "The Love Ritual"

Thanks for this, Frank.

My memory may be faulty, but I don' think that this is it. The one that I am thinking of definitely involved a full deck to begin with. The spectator followed specific instructions. I recall that a couple of the steps involved removing the top 4 cards and putting them on the bottom, then removing the next 4 cards and putting them together somewhere in the middle. Hard as it is to believe, I also remember overhand shuffles. The last sequences involved taking the top card and tossing it, putting the next card on the bottom, etc. until one card was left that matched the prediction.

Can't believe that I'm "that guy" who can't remember exactly where I saw it!

Thanks again, Frank!

Thanks, Darko. Boy, that's close, but it's not it. There were definitely cards tossed over the spectators' shoulders, followed by putting cards on the bottom of the deck. I don't believe that any were face up throughout the process.

Interestingly, I was asking a friend this morning if he knows what I am describing. He said that it sounds like an effect that Dan White did or does, though I haven't seen his show.

Thanks for the detective work!

You might ask Chad Long. He’s a master shuffler and his lessons are excellent! Smile
