Lots of threads to sort through on both effects — neither of which I have — hence my question, and just for clarity’s sake (or just to cut to the chase):
Do both of these effects rely upon the *exact same* set of somewhat non-standard, specifically gaffed coins? (Meaning that if you have the necessary gaffs for one effect, you also have the necessary gaffs for the other effect?)

Yes if you have the specific set required then both effects are possible.
