It is with heavy heart I announce the passing of my father Luis Solorzano. He was beloved by the entire magic community, especially those in connection with the Magic Castle. Both him and I both got into magic together when we first walked into a magic shop and was mystified by a stripper deck. We then pursued our love for magic with the Michael Ammar Easy to Master series. Several years later we both joined the Magic Castle. My father even did some artwork as a creative illustrator for many magicians and also ran for the Board of Trustees at the Magic Castle. He was a devoted family man and a man of faith. I love you dad. If you knew him, it would be greatly appreciated if you can post some kind words.

Thank you,
Aaron Solorzano

I had the pleasure of doing many shows with Luis in the Castle's Museum Room. He was a master coin worker. He will be missed. My condolences to his family and friends.

I was fortunate to hang out with Luis on a few occasions. He was always encouraging and fun to be around. I am saddened we won’t get together again.

My heartfelt condolences to you and your family Aaron.

That’s so cool to hear that you and your father had the chance to bond further with magic. Thanks for sharing!

I’m pretty sure that your father and I crossed paths a few times at the Castle and at Hollywood Magic.

Rest In Peace.

I’m sorry for your loss.

HOLLYWOOD MAGIC - is that the one that was on Hollywood Blvd. up from Highland Blvd.? If it is, It's been almost 70 when I first entered there (age 14). I just won a model Plane on a talent show with my Vent. Went in and asked if I could trade it for some Magic - A Hugh Scary looking -though friendly Clerk said 'sure', and I got a 'hat loader' - 'Imp Bottle' - 'Die Box' - and I was in MAGIC. Many times I went back - and "He" was very helpful - as was Joe - at "Bergs", up the street (Up stairs). Wife and I, Met Tommy Cooper, at Joe's. <> AHHHHHH Memories - YEARS later was also one of the 1st (?) 100 (?) members of the Castle (Bill and Milt, were my sponsors). So many Magic Friends now gone ( of course at 83+ - what do we expect ?) Bless them ALL. Ralph ROUSSEAU (russo)

When I filled I at Hollywood Magic, Luis was a frequent and welcome presence. He did kind favors for many well known magicians and he was kind in every encounter...
A real nice man and a real loss to the community of magicians... I am so sorry to hear of his passing.

Kindest regards,

Jonathan Neal
